 READ HEBREWS 2:14.

In Hebrews 2:14 we see an astonishing thing, which every Christian believer should grasp! Understanding this one fact would save church- goers from foolish attempts to establish the “kingdom” with the churches as rulers of the planet. The counterfeit doctrines of “Kingdom Now” or “Dominion Theology” can be seen to be in error with this one fact that God has revealed:
Satan has direct control of this world’s system, and he is in control of those who will not accept Christ as Saviour and Lord! This means that all who are unsaved are being manipulated by an unseen spiritual being, one is evil beyond our understanding:
 

“For as much as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he [Christ] also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.” (Heb. 2:14).
Compare this with Acts 10:38; Luke 13:16; Job 1:9-12; Luke 22:31,32; 11 Cor. 12:7.

Satan has authority and power in this age in which we live, and although his limits are under the restraining hand of God, he still is the “god” of this age! He is the head of this huge world system, and the director of the affairs of all people who are unregenerate. Until Christ Jesus comes to put Satan down at the end of the Tribulation, no so-called Christian organizations can take over the world’s political system and change it into a “Christian” dominion. Christ has already defeated Satan, but Satan will be allowed to continue his rebellious rule until all of God’s plans are fulfilled, every trial or testing of fallen mankind must be allowed until every mouth is stopped, and all rebellion is finally put down.

We saved people are “partakers of the heavenly calling.” This means we are heavenly by God’s calling, of course. God Himself called us, and has established us in that most high position by His mercy and Grace alone (Romans 8:28-31).

 
· We are citizens of heaven (Phil.3: 20).
· We are heavenly by inheritance (1 Pet. 1:4) and by resurrection life. (Ephesians 2:60).
· Heaven is the sphere of the believers’ present association with the Lord Jesus Christ.

“What we need in the Christian life is to get believers to want to do God’s will as much as other people want to do their own will. And this is the idea of the Gospel. It is what God intended for us; and it is what He has promised. In describing the new covenant in Hebrews 8:6-13, He says it shall no more be the old covenant made on Sinai, - that is, a law given from the outside, controlling a man by force, - but it shall be a law written within, constraining a man by love. “I will put my laws, “He says, “into their mind, and write them in their hearts.” This can mean nothing but that we must love His law; for anything written in our hearts we must love. “And putting it into our minds” is surely the same as God working in us to “will and to do of His good pleasure,” and means that we shall will what God wills, and shall obey His sweet commands, not because it is our duty to do so, but because we ourselves want to do what He wants us to do. Nothing could possibly be conceived more effective than this.”

  DISCUSS this in view of disciplining children, and bringing them up in a proper Christian way. We want them also to DESIRE to do what God wants them to do, not train them up as we do dogs and horses, with reward and punishment as the Images items on the agenda!
 

We believers have been “perfected forever” by the one sacrifice which God’s Son made on Calvary. This is our positional sanctification, our STAND in Christ Jesus. We are obviously not “perfect” in our actual STATE, so all must be in Christ’s righteousness alone. God looks at the “funds” in our spiritual bank account and sees untold riches in heaven, all in our accounts. He looks at our accounts in our own righteousness-bank and sees only debt, with nothing to pay back with! Can we add to our accounts in heaven, in Christ’s Jesus’ “imputed” righteousness? No, of course we can’t! Then why think for one minute that we need to add our own works to Christ’s completed salvation?

God has limited Himself because of His Divine holiness to ONE WAY, a new way, of access into His presence - by the blood of Christ alone. This was consecrated for us through His flesh. For those who have never accepted Christ, as Saviour to try to come to God by prayer is, then, an insult and pollution to the Almighty. God is holy and pure; we cannot come to Him unless we come by the Blood of His Son.
Those who make a mere form of the Blood of Christ and seek in that way to come to God are also insulting the Holy Lord, for they are denying the power of the Blood! Read 11 Timothy 3:5.

We are strangers and pilgrims on this earth. We do not belong here! This world, at the moment, is Satan’s territory, but we must remember that the devil created nothing!!!! God created all things, and no material or physical thing is evil in itself. Satan is a usurper only, who has devastated the things of God for his own greed and ambition. The Bible declares, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fulness thereof.” Read Psalm 24:1. One day we will rule with Christ on this very earth! In God’s timing, not in ours!

We are not under the repressive, stern dictates of the Law of Moses or Judaism ever again! Note the difference between the two dispensations - Law and Grace. Which one would you rather be under? Why drift away, then, from Grace at all, stay firmly settled in the New Covenant in Christ’s shed Blood.
