It
is significant the European Union building in Strasburg, France has on
its roof a model of the Tower of Babel. A member of the European parliament
has stated that the "woman on the beast" (Rev. 17:1-4) is the official
picture of the EU. The Parliament building of the E1;J in Brussels, Belgium
contains a dome with a three times life size painting of the woman on the
beast and a bronze statue of the woman. The massive EU building in Strasburg,
France has a mural of the same woman.
A
third matter of prophetic significance is the URI, the United Religious
Initiative, which is the development of the World Church currently
headed by Bishop William Spong of the Grace Cathedral located on Nob Hill
in the city of San Francisco. The stated purpose of the URI is to
join hands with the UN to bring world peace, save the environment,
distribute the worlds wealth equally among all peoples, build Unity in
religion’s diversity and promote religious plurality.
The
URI had its beginning in February 1993 when liberal Episcopal Bishop William
Swing was asked by the UN to hose an interfaith service marking the UN's
anniversary. In June 1993, Bishop Swing held a meeting in New York with
leaders of international, interfaith religious groups and in 1995 sponsored
an interfaith youth conference and publicly announced the United Religious
Initiative at the UN anniversary.
In
June 1996, Swing traveled to meet religious leaders in India, Pakistan,
Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Turkey, England, Switz-erland and the Vatican. At
the same time, 55 representatives of various religions met for talks about
organizing the United Religious Initiative From July 1996 May 1937 regional
discussions were held around the world by Internet to build support for
the URI.
June
93-27 delegates from 100 historic religions and 100 spiritual movements
met at Stanford University to begin work on a URI charter. June 1997-May
1998, conference participantsreturned
to their religious Communities to discuss the role which they wished to
play in writing the charter. June 1998, a conference to begin to draw up
the Charter was held and in June 1998 to May 200, work continued on the
Charter and at the same time they sought to broaden participation.
June
26, 2000, the URI Charter was signed as walking pilgrimages for peace were
conducted in villages, towns and cities at various points around theworld.
The IRI is now an officially chartered apostate coalition of world religions.
What a hodgepodge of religious confusion.
What
does the future hold now that we have the ingredients for a World
Church and World Government in place? The next thing
on God's program is the rapture of the church.
