Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Have just finished reading "Faith Movement Heresies...Seducing Spirits
and Doctrines of Devils".
It is excellent, makes the Word of God very clear, no shades of grey,
Praise the Lord.
In the 45 years I've been a Christian, I still thank the Lord that He
has never left Himself without a witness.
When I came to Christ it was at the time of the Oral Roberts, T.L.
Osborne etc., they preached straight from the Word
of God, and the Lord confirmed His Word with mighty signs and wonders.
How deeply I feel for these once mighty tools in their Saviour's hand, have become deceived by the lure of riches, fame and fortune of all kinds. They will receive God's divine wrath, as they received much, and God will require much from them.
E.W. Kenyon was highly recommended by our local Baptist Church, even the A.O.G. used his Bible Studies, being new Christians we were so hungry for God's Word, and drank everything in. Praise God for His Precious Holy Spirit, He began to reveal the errors to my heart as I seriously began to study God's Word and Kenyon's studies. How cleverly he led the people into error, bringing innocent minds by the acceptable way he explained things.
Gloria and Kenneth Copeland had blessed me in the very early days of their ministries, Jesus was lifted up in truth, purity, and love. Sadly now I see their familiar forms, but they are empty of the truth that is in Jesus, how this must grieve the Lord Jesus who died for them. Fred Price is another one who has become so great in his own eyes, deluding his followers into accepting him as a "god", hanging onto his empty words. I used to watch his T.V. shows every Sunday, as we live in the country, a church was out of reach, so Fred Price was church for us. Some times he preached from God's Word saying it as it was. Slowly I became aware of a strange gospel he was preaching, "a seeing it first, then getting it". A Positive faith doctrine started to possess him. So T.V. went off and his tapes went out.
Kenneth Hagin is tarred with the same brush, and so are the rest of these once truly God anointed men and women.
How far the "mighty" have fallen, I am now older, an aged pensioner, but the truth of God's Word never ages or changes.
The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from temptation, so I pray that all who read this excellent book of W. Howard's will take it to heart, and start exposing all compromise of God's Word.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Only Way to the Father God, and all who truly repent and turn away from these deceitful lies of man, God will forgive and cleanse you in His Precious Blood. How I praise God that His Blood has never lost its power, it never changes, it is incorruptible, and has retained its cleansing Power over almost 2000 years.
Paul warned the Church about those who teach, and preach another Jesus, he said they would increase, and they are. Friends beware and be warned, turn to Jesus Christ, follow only Him, read only His Word, I recommend the Authorized King James. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you, help you understand what the Word is saying. Jesus did it for me, He can and will do it for you, just ask Him in simple, faith. Hebrews 11:6 is God's way, please do it His way, and He will lead you out of all the devil's deceptions and deceit, because Jesus defeated Satan on the Cross of Calvary, Jesus stripped him of his power to keep the soul in bondage
Jesus came to redeem mankind from the curse and to reinstate him as a child of God. Jesus is coming back soon, He says to all BE READY, ARE YOU?

"Winds of doctrine" are sweeping our earth, blowing thousands of people this way and then that! They are virtually picked up by these winds of belief, held as though in the arms of a nurse, only to change direction yet again. Picked up by another "nurse", as an exciting doctrine wafts into their lives, they are carried along absorbed by "ear-tickling" teachings of a different sort. The Bible warns of these doctrines of demons.
"The Spirit saith expressly, that in the latter times some shall fall
away from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons,
through the hypocrisy of men that speak lies, seared in their own conscience
as with a hot iron ..."
(1 Timothy 4:1-2).
EVIL DAYS.
The days we live in are day of extreme peril. Not so much because of physical or even moral dangers (though these exist for sure), but because of the danger of yielding to the wicked deceptions of the lawless one, Satan, in these last days. These deceptions can draw even God's true people, sincere believers, away from the paths of simple faith in the Living Saviour, The Lord Jesus.
Reader, will you allow the Holy Spirit to deal with you deeply as your read this warning? Will you pray this prayer. humbly before the Lord, trusting Him to guide you into all truth - about your present state, the possibility of deception? Fear not, the Lord is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
A PRAYER.
"Our
Heavenly Father, I freely choose to yield my mind entirely to you. I believe,
Lord, that no devilish deception can remain against my will. Open my spiritual
eyes to any errors and heresies of these latter days which I may have accepted.
I acknowledge before you that I am unable to evaluate in my own intellect
the subtle, seductive brilliantly wicked "doctrines of demons". I need
you, Lord, to guide by your Holy Spirit into all truth - about myself and
the beliefs I hold. I humble myself, and lean entirely upon you. Amen.
"
If you meant this prayer from the heart, any deception you may have accepted will be revealed to you. Pride is the only barrier! We all feel humiliated when we find out that we have been deceived in some way. The worst blow to our pride happens when, as dedicated Christians, we find we have accepted lies of the enemy! Yet none of us is ever free from such a possibility in this fallen world. Draw close to the Lord, He alone is the answer.
Ignorance is the only sin needed in order to fall into deception! Moral decline or sinful behaviour are not ultimately the cause of error and heresy. An obedient, God-fearing Christian can be ignorant on some doctrines of the Word and fall into the mind trap of Satan.
CAN A SINCERE BELIEVER REALLY BE DECEIVED?
Of course a sincere believer can be deceived!
To be deceived means that we believe something to be true when it is
not - SINCERELY!
Or else we wouldn't be "deceived", we would be deliberately mis-handling
the Word of God:
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
The deceiver affects the minds and lives of God's people in the following ways:
......Christians
are deceived if they are hearers of God's Word, but not doers of God's
Word (James 1:22).
......They
are deceived if they say they have no sin, (or that they are incapable
of error). (1 John 1:8).
.......They
are deceived if they think that the wisdom of this world can make them
wise! Many doctrines in the modern day churches are WORLDLY WISDOM. (1
Corinthians 3:18).
.......Christians
are deceived when they think they are "something" when they are nothing.
Many pride-filled doctrines
of self-glory and self-gratification come from the pulpits of the 1990s.
(Galatians 6:3).
.......Believers
are deceived if they think that what they sow, they will not reap. If we
"sow" by foolishly accepting teachings without searching the scriptures
diligently to see if these things are so, then we will reap diabolical
error, inevitably. (Galatians 6:7).
......We
are deceived if we think that contact with sinful, wicked doctrines (which
destroy faith in Christ) will not have
an effect on ME! A constant hearing of wrong unbiblical teaching will
certainly have a detrimental effect on the hearer.
(I Corinthians 15:33).
A THOUGHT THAT REPELS.
Even the thought of being deceived repels and alarms us. How we resent this suggestion as applied to ourselves. How hard the enemy works to keep Christians in a frame of mind which repulses all unpleasant thoughts that I could be deceived. Isn't that a great part of delusion itself? If anyone truly seeks to keep clear and pure, apart from the Latter Day mind games of Lucifer, then the first step is always to admit...
I have a fallen nature, and a fallen intellect;
I am willing to face this in order to be free, and walk only in the TRUTH.
The Bible warns clearly that the "time of the end" will have one over-whelming characterization - a world-wide deception! A deception of nations, individuals, within society, within the Church. The supernatural powers will carry rebellious mankind into untold violent actions against God and Truth. These unregenerate men and women are being led like blind-folded goats to the slaughter! The Bible says...
"The whole world lieth in the wicked one!"(1John5:19)

diligently. Be brave and true, beloved of God,
as you read the content of the deceptions of the END TIMES.
The selfisms of this latter part of the 20th century are known to us all! No thinking, socially alive person could escape them! They are everywhere! We are being taught that we must revere, pamper to, esteem highly, build up, understand more deeply, love and adore - S E L F. To a Bible-based Christian the error of self, not the Lord, should seem obvious. The Bible teaches that self is sinful, fallen, arrogantly, sickeningly proud. The Bible teaches that self has been taken to the cross with Christ, and that we are to reckon it dead! So sinful is self, that God has had to begin all over again, with a new nature for His new creatures, saved by the death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
A horrible, wicked travesty of Christianity fills many churches today. The power-of-self teachings of the New Age have spawned an ugly super-humanistic style of preaching and writing which has swept the ignorant into deep, dangerous waters. Such world-famous preachers as KENNETH HAGIN, GLORIA and KENNETH COPELAND, ROBERT SCHULLER, PAUL YONGGI CHO, BENNY HINN, LARRY LEA, and many others, have spread the horrors of selfisms and self's powers, and THE FAITH WORD across the Christian world.
AUSTRALIA.
Here in Australia, preachers in their multitudes have taken up false doctrine, and deviant ideologies, not taught in scripture. The Christian Outreach Centre, the Assembly of God, the Baptist Church, the Anglican Church, the Uniting Church... are now openly spreading the beliefs in self and power from self.
SEARCH OUT THE TRUTH, FOR YOURSELVES.
The average church-goer often leaves the evaluation of teachings and theology to the Pastor. This is a serious mistake. The Catholic Church teaches that the interpretation of the Bible is to be left in the hands of Papal Infallibility. The people of God, however, must respond to the Living God, and to His leading, through the Holy Spirit, into all truth (John 16:13). The Lord will not block your ears when error and heresy is preached! He expects you to seek His face every step of the way, searching the Scriptures for yourselves. Do not remain at the mercy of man, if you have passively done so in previous days.
IF IT IS NOT IN THE BIBLE - DO NOT ACCEPT IT!
Do you know the Bible well enough to check, evaluate and yes, reject
teachings? A constant diet of doctrines of demons, Sunday after Sunday,
will affect you so badly that your entire life with Christ Jesus will be
disrupted, nullified or even destroyed altogether - saved, but by the skin
of your teeth! You could even be well down the track in accepting doctrines
of demons, as you read this booklet, without having understood before how
far gone you were!
SELF-GLORY,
SELF-GRATIFICATION,
SELF-LOVE,
SELF-INTEREST,
SELF AS DEITY.
The self as centre instead of the Lord as centre, is a blight of the lowest order! The Lord Jesus Christ died in unspeakable agony to save us all. He ever lives to intercede at the Father's throne. Where did Jesus go after He was resurrected? He rose to the Heavenly Throne, He is seated on the right hand of the Majesty on High, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our comforter - and He lives to intercede for you and I! To know all this (to receive Christ as Saviour, to realize His priestly office on our behalf) and to then choose freely to elevate man instead of the Saviour is quite despicable!
We Christians are not saved out of this selfish world in order that we might find a religious version of the Mel Gibson success story! Jesus Christ did not save us to give us a "big ministry" of influence, a fine house, car and bank balance. He did not save us to give us a platform for our singing voices, talents as musicians, (or speaking abilities) and a glossy, slick new, well- dressed image! All of these things the selfish world clamours and kills for. Sometimes church groups struggle and fight as hard as the world to gain selfish desires and self-glorification.
WHAT IS SELF-LOVE REALLY ALL ABOUT?
Self-love is all about self-interest first. The reason that mankind fell in the Garden of Eden was self-love and self-interest and self-dependence, and the Lord God as the focal-centre was displaced.
To seek to use the glorious Gospel of Christ to booster self in any way is unspeakably sinful. To seek to sell "Christian" books just to get gain for self, to draw other people to yourself to gain influence for self, to use others as a means of gaining money for self (to make "merchandise of them" 2 Peter 2:3) is black sin indeed. Yet, many today not only do such acts but encourage others to do likewise, claiming that "ambition" is not sinful!
Self-worth and self-esteem are teachings with a recognizable name, easy enough to spot. But, the philosophy of SELF INTEREST and SELF LOVE has a greater scope. Everywhere in religious circles today, self-interest and self-love flow from mouth to mouth, from mind and heart, from book to video. One would think, if one was a casual unsaved observer, that all that really matters to Christians is their own salvation, their love of the approbation of men, the gaining of their own health and wealth, and their own grand sphere of "ministry". The unsaved DO think so, that is very obvious from television programmes etc. Sadly, not without justification.
A CHANGE IN DIRECTION.
When I was first saved, over thirty years ago, the basic beliefs about Biblical piety and righteous living were being taught in churches, as a standard recognized by all. Maybe people were proud and strutting at times, self-seeking and secretly ambitious for glory, it is true. But, this behaviour was seen as wrong, un-Christian in the extreme. Humility, self-sacrificing service to others hidden from the eyes of men, pleasing the Lord in the low place as well as the high, suffering, Godliness with content with our circumstances, was considered the normal Christian life. To not live so was "worldly", "carnal" and sinful.
Today, the humble, self-sacrificing, the ones who refuse to be drawn into the "rat-race" of competition, the meek who do not arrive at church in lovely clothes and the latest model Ford, are considered "unspiritual". Why? Because of the teachings of our day, with the unscriptural emphasis on self-interest! One is seen as a failure who does not have "faith" enough to make it big! Even worse, some teach of a "demon of poverty", a "demon of failure" or (if the church-goer is in uncertain health) a "demon of sickness".
The meek, non-conforming and self-giving Christians, who cannot sin
against the Lord by competing in ambitious church-games, are deemed weak,
lacking in spiritual "power". Good is evil, evil is good! (Isaiah 5:20).
CHRIST IS OUR LOVE,
INTEREST,
GRATIFICATION,
GLORY,
SATISFACTION AND
HE ALONE IS WORTHY.
How sad and needy are the church people of the 1990s. All that is needed is the Lord Jesus Christ, He Himself filling our souls. Self means unhappiness and despair. Christ Jesus saves us from the tyranny of self and sin. Come away, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, from the self-seeking agony. As you see that self has been crucified with Christ on the cross, and reckon self dead (Romans 6:6; Galatians 5:24), you will find peace and joy.
Walk in lowliness of service to others. Live for Christ and for service which pours out your all, to give to other people for no reason at all but that you love them, and then you will work the works of God (Eph. 2:8-10., Matt. 5:16). Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus (Phil. 2:5-8).
Go against the tide of public opinion in churches and you will find yourself a reject, no doubt. Can you love the Lord enough for this? Do you love Him enough to take a low place in humiliation, as He did for you? Pour out your soul for those precious empty people who sit each week in the pews? Pray for them! Do not compete with them, they need Jesus Christ as much as you do. Let Him love them through you. Be part of a revival of love, kindness, humility, Bible-based truth and rejection of greed for money! SELF IS NOT GOD!!!
Self is not God. No Christian, surely, would come straight out with such a statement as "self is God" - would they?

God" doctrine!

are "little Christs", sharing His life means that we become "Christs" too!

made man a God! God made man a God under God." [Frederick Price].

don't have a God living in you - you are one!" [Kenneth Copeland].
..."Man
is not a separate creation detached from God, he is a part of God Himself
---- God intends us to be gods ...." [John G. Lake].
..."We
are growing toward godhood. God is the goal of evolution --- God wants
us to become Himself
(or Herself or Itself)" [M. Scott Peck].

are just a sample of teachers who are reverenced today by Christians,
yet teach blasphemous "god-man" doctrines.
JOHN WIMBER (once caught up in the Toronto Blessing), who does
not teach such things himself, nevertheless recommends authors who do so!
Here in Australia many churches sell the books and tapes of these men,
and speak out their doctrines in pulpits across
our land.
The fear and awe of the Almighty has been replaced by reverence for
man! Choose now whom will you serve?
The "god-men" believers, or the Lord Jesus Christ? Is it to be man
or God?
False Christs abound today. Leaders who claim elevated "anointings" for themselves, who lord it over the flocks they should be loving and humbly serving, who assume positions of wealth and power at the expense of God's people - these have become false "Christs" to countless church-goers.
In Australia the scene mirrors America. Ambitious men and women taught self-glory and self-interest by proud leaders, emerge from "Bible" colleges ill-equipped to care for and patiently instruct the needy hearts in many pews. They know no better! Sadly, the preacher often needs the adulation of the congregation, as much as the congregation needs a figure-head to support them. Dotted here and there, solid plain men and women of God pray, witness and speak God's Word however much falls on deaf ears! The author of this tract once met an eager pastor, fresh from a Bible College, who informed me that he had been taught in college that one key to success in establishing a church was to aquire one or two RICH and lonely widows! The man embraced this grasping notion without a twinge of conscience.
WILL YOU STAND FOR CHRIST?
Many sincere Christians would never dare oppose the greedy, the grasping, the pope-ishly autocratic in their churches, nor will they search the scriptures for themselves, preferring to accept blindly the teaching of men! Do you love the Lord? Do you seek to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth? Then yield to Him, and do not support in any way greed, the handling of God's Word deceitfully for gain, foolish men on glory trips, or New Age apostasy dressed up as Christian doctrine!
What about "anointing"? Who are God's anointed? The cry that goes up "don't touch God's anointed" intimidates the average Christian into a submission which is dishonouring to God! Often when challenged about false doctrine, New Age practices or suspected misconduct of some sort, the spurious pastor or leader will cry "don't touch God's anointed" - many gentle souls are frightened into silence. Who and what are these `anointed of God'? Are leaders the only anointed ones?
Although the Lord certainly raises up Pastors, Teachers and Evangelists,
He does not raise up an elitist class of overlords! All born-again Christians
are the anointed - they have the Holy Ghost living within them.[John 16:13,14;
Rom.8:11,14]
In their relationship to Christ Jesus, THE ANOINTED of GOD , they share
His Life.
Submit only to Biblically sound, Biblically correct Pastors and Teachers. Remember, that the leader is a sheep also, under the Lord who is his shepherd. Would a sheep follow another sheep if the shepherd was leading a different path? Yes, the Pastor is an under-shepherd, but he is never the Lord! The Pastor or leader is a saved sinner, who is imperfect until the day he or she dies. Pray for them, support their work (if they are God-fearing, humble Bible-based leaders), but do not make an idol or a pope out of a mere human! The teaching of these days which makes an elitist group within churches, people who are seen as having a "hot-line" to God, super-beings who are "not as other men are", is not Christian, it is another form of papalism!
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH...
has kept millions in subjection to the priesthood and the Vatican through many hundreds of years. The freedom under God for the individual to be led of the Holy Spirit, be taught by the Holy Spirit and to interpret God's Word, to witness, pray, worship and break bread was taken violently away. The Church and her leaders were set up as the only interpreters of the Bible. The Catholic Church has become, to her members, the very fountain of salvation, denying salvation in Christ alone. The priests have taken away individual conscience before the Lord, and the home life as well as the church life is regulated by figures of religious authority.
LIBERTY IN CHRIST.
Are you a protestant, born-again, saved soul, set free in Christ Jesus? Then do not come under bondage, as the Catholics have done, to leaders and pastors. Do not mistakenly yield to any man an awe, reverence, or allegiance above and beyond that which Scripture plainly decrees. [Heb.13:5-8]
Doctrines which teach contrary to Biblical instruction are doctrines of demons. Do not be deceived, man is not Christ!
Many today feel intimidated about Christian activity which is not "under the umbrella" or "covering" of a "recognized ministry" or denomination. Christians, however, do not need a "covering" of a man or a group of men in order to serve the Lord. This too is a form of papalistic bondage. Our covering is the Lord Jesus Christ, dear people of God. We are priests of God, a holy priesthood indeed. The world is dying in sin, we all must be soul winners. In these days of heresy, YOU must spread the gospel, really know what prayer is all about, and lead sinners to Christ. We know not what lies ahead of this world. No use waiting for a reluctant hierarchy to commission you, you are already commissioned by the Lord Himself .[Mark 16:15; Acts1:8] Seek His face, and He will lead you into paths of righteousness, for His name's sake. Live obediently, righteously,filled with the Life of the Lord Jesus Christ.[I Peter 2:5]
THE SPIRITS WHO CALL THEMSELVES "CHRIST"
Meditation, Inner Healing and regression therapies plague the churches as well as the New Age groups, in the 1990s. Spirits posing as "Christ", conjured up by the imagery of people seeking relief from emotional instability, deceive people everywhere today. It is a fad now to "visualize" all kinds of blessings for self - and the imaginary "Jesus" has become just another thing to grasp at for self.
Do not be deceived, Christian, by these end time spirits! The Lord Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God, He will come again to this earth in the very near future. The Lord Jesus Christ does not walk back with you into the corridors of the past, reliving each hurt and heartache. Jesus Christ shares His life with believers, through the Holy Spirit, but Christ Himself is in Heaven with the Father. The sun shines, for example, and you may sun bathe in its rays, but the sun itself is a flaming orb far away from this earth, in the remote universe. So also Christ Jesus influences and is always with you, spiritually, here on earth. You are a spiritual part of Christ Jesus, but He no longer walks the earth as even a glorified man.
Guided meditation which leads to imagined "Christs" (or indeed any kind of entity) which listen to our problems, give advice etc. are demonic! These are conjured up idols, and Satan will oblige every time by giving the unwary a real experience! Believers should never image Christ, either in wood, stone or picture, or using the powers of the mind, and give that image credence and worship. It matters not that we are sincere or that the authentic Christ is sought in these ways. These images are idol worship, forbidden by the Word of God. [Exodus 20:3-5]
Strange events are occurring on our planet! The very atmosphere is heavy with spiritual activity from the evil one. Witchcraft, Satanism, Shamanism and the occult New Age fills our media, music, the arts and even our shopping centres are polluted by tarot card readers, psychic shops and New Age centres! The calling down of the wicked, fallen angels, is happening constantly in "invocation", as people in hundreds of millions indulge in such horrors as the New Age "Great Invocation". The revival of evil black masses and the like have an enormous effect on our world. Wicked powers and principalities are at work seeking to swallow up the testimony of the Christian, to upset and render them powerless. Be on your guard against deceptive spirits calling themselves "Christ", or "Mary", or "God" or "the Holy Spirit". Be not deceived.
THE RISE
OF THE "FAITH" MINISTRIES.
The sad reliance that many have on personalities within Christian circles, has grown deadly fruit! The tree from which the "Faith" ministries have grown has roots in demonic deceptions! A weird amalgamation of all religions is happening here on this planet. A planet in the midst of cosmic battle, evil spirits and angels against the Lord God and His hosts, Satan wants to soon set up his antichrist, a possessed man who will rule the entire earth. The main vehicle for the take-over of the earth is religion. The U.N. has a world religion, and a world church ready to absorb all faiths.
The series of events which are leading the pentecostal and charismatic
churches into the New Age New World Order, One World Church, are nothing
less than brilliantly devised! No man or group could have arranged what
is happening. Only a supernatural master-mind could be behind the threads
which are weaving together to form the New Age Church for this planet's
masses. One thread in the enormous unity we will look at is the "Faith"
ministries. This is to keep our purpose in mind, for simplicity, but please
do not forget that the picture is far bigger than this mere thread. All
who do not trust (in truth) in the Lord Jesus Christ alone for salvation
will merge into the One World Church, eventually. [Rev.17:1-8]
The "Faith" Teachings of many today have sprung, not from the Bible
but from metaphysical occultism! These teachings will merge with the New
Age, because they are basically the SAME beliefs. A sample line of teachers/preachers
who have vastly influenced churches in our day with the spurious "faith"

Such churches, here in Australia, as the Christian Outreach Centre, the Assembly of God and many, many bookshops and Christian organizations who belong to various groups, etc. The KENNETH COPELAND SCHOOLS are also spreading across our land.
Many believe that Kenneth Hagin was the "father" of the Faith Movement, but this is actually not so, for Kenneth Hagin plagiarized his teachings from E.W. Kenyon! E.W. Kenyon was behind the forming of the FAITH MOVEMENT CULT.
Kenneth Hagin made elaborate claims in regard to his visits to heaven (and hell)! and lay claim to extraordinary, special revelation direct from the Lord. These questions must be posed to the reader:
If it has been proved without a shadow of a doubt that Kenneth Hagin actually copied his teachings from E.W. Kenyon who wrote many teachings thirty years before Hagin, where does that leave his claims to have direct revelation from God? Where does that leave Hagin's claims to have been to heaven and hell, and to have had astonishing visions? Can such a cheat and fabricator be trusted in the slightest degree? What about Hagin's dramatic visits from "Jesus"? You must answer for yourselves.

In the book "A Different Gospel", by the Pentecostal writer,
D.R. McConnell, the whole farce of Hagin has been documented clearly
and irrefutably. Hagin scarcely even paraphrased his writings, he simply
copied Kenyon's works blatantly, and signed his own name. Not just similar
teaching (as Hagin always insisted), but word for word copies.

Where then did E.W. Kenyon's doctrines come from? The doctrines of healing, positive confession and prosperity that Kenyon taught were the doctrines of New Thought and Christian Science. Metaphysical and Occult!

SOUL POWER VERSUS SPIRIT POWER.
The "BIG" Ministry Carrot.
The Faith movement cult preachers often stress POWER for the individual and church. "Powerful" is a favourite word with these people. The carrot is thrown out to the eager congregations that they, themselves, can have a BIG, POWERFUL ministry! Examples of the successful, faith-filled fat-cats who have "made it", are brought in to testify, Sunday after Sunday. Television "ministers"; business men who are millionaires and have "BIG" ministries amongst their staff members etc; people who started with nothing and now jet around the globe "ministering" and "evangelizing". I have seen the power idea pushed to the extreme of MUSCLE MEN, clad in jockey shorts, parading in the church as "POWERFUL" witnesses to Christ!!!
The person in the pew who is just an every-day, average human, is being thrown a carrot! The carrot, of course, is that you too can have a powerful, BIG ministry. Many, many are those who take the bait, and try to get in there with the hierarchy so that they can be noticed, and can burst forth into the desired "ministry". Large amounts of money change hands as people (many who can ill afford it) pay for "Bible" school training - to become "pastors" (both men and women). Some live on scraps for many months, expecting to come out the other end with a BIG ministry! The courses finish, no ministry - no money. The feeling of rejection and let down is enormous. Disasters galore have occurred, and continue to happen. The author remembers a sad case of a lovely young woman who went through the taking of the carrot, the paying of the money, the quick-learn "pastor" routine, the rejection at the end - the loss of much money. She ended up bitterly dis-illusioned and drifted into immorality and despair!
GREED and SELF-GLORY is SIN.
To aim at such ambition for self, urged on by clever, merchandising leaders is SIN! Christ Jesus died to save us from the power of such sin. One who truly has a calling from God is seeking to lay down their lives for others, not seeking prestige and power for themselves - that is not of God. Christian service is about forgetting self's place in the scheme of things, about being willing to serve God in obscurity as eagerly as serving Him before the eyes of the world. Serving God is loving others, walking with the Lord in our homes, in the office, in the every-day pains and trials of the hum-drum or the exciting - only let it be God's will.
POWER FROM THE SELF.
The New Age Human Potential Movement is the twin brother of the Faith Movement cult within the Christian church. Identical doctrines mark the twin movements, the roots of both are metaphysical and esoteric. These doctrines of power are doctrines of demons of the latter days!
Positive confession, positive and possibility thinking are examples.
Norman Vincent Peale has had an enormous influence on the twin Human Potential
movements. Peale, and those who take up his teachings, declare that prayer
power is a manifestation of energy, prayer is a power in itself, what we
"confess" we will get, man has spiritual power in himself, creative power
is released by faith, God's healing power is available through your own
mind.
This is all ANCIENT SORCERY, MIND SCIENCES, MIND MAGIC. Norman Vincent
Peale is, in actuality,
a 33o Mason, who recently endorsed the New Age "bible" -
the fake book `The Jesus Letters' by Theosophists!
Which will you choose, God's power or your own power?
The Faith Word, or the Word of God?
They are NOT one and the same!
The idea that power resides in me, that all the things necessary for spiritual life or to create spiritual miracles lies in me, even if I attribute this power to God, is deception, it is occult delusion. Christians exhibit spiritual power only as channels which the Lord God uses. No power resides in man himself - we are either a channel for God or for deceiving, impersonating spirits. Humans do not have super-natural powers which come from themselves as a source. Nor does power come from the `FAITH WORD'. Power belongs only to the person of the Almighty God.
The churches which teach man's power, selfism and the hyper-faith teachings
are many today in Australia. So are the churches which encourage acupuncture,
homoeopathy, aroma therapy, colour therapy, yoga - and many other New Age
health techniques and practices. Inner healing, healing of the memories,
visualization and imagery, and even meditation of
an occult nature are within Christian (so- called) churches!
The churches which push prosperity teachings here in Australia, also
encourage the money-power men from the U.S.A.
In a secular world, free from the protection of being a religion, many
of these would be charged with fraud!
THE LATTER DAY CON_MEN
WHO MAKE MERCHANDISE OF GOD'S PEOPLE!
What does the Bible warning in Rev.18:13 or 2 Pet.2:3 actually mean? Well, merchandise is a commodity which one can get financial gain from, by peddling it, or using selling skills to convince other people that they want it enough to part with money to get it. To make "merchandise" of a person is to regard them as a commodity which brings in money! The modern day church is filled with those who "make merchandise" of people whom God loves.
SHOULD WE EXPOSE SUCH MATTERS?
The word "love" is often misused or mis-directed today. To expose or
criticize leaders often brings cries of "lack of love", "ungodly negativity",
or some such remark. It is time that untold multitudes of injured people
who sit in the pews (or have left!) are considered, not the unjust leaders.
How about those who have been bankrupted, emotionally broken, humiliated
and who have been turned against the Lord by unscrupulous preachers and
pastors? Let us love others enough to be bold against corruption in high
places in Christ's congregation of saints. Too much has been tolerated
by too many for too long. The Lord is at hand!
GOING WITH THE CROWD.
The pressure to go along with the crowd, don't rock the boat, be "positive" is extremely painful! Yes, I too feel these pressures. Everyone wants to get along with others, be popular, find acceptance and praise. However, that is not what we are here for, Christian. A great apostasy has immobilized much of the church's witness to the TRUTH. We dare not compromise, we must contend for the faith once for all delivered to the saints. Where will you stand in this conflict - face ridicule, anger, rejection and having your "big ministry" plans laid in the dust? Will you see the eternal issues which lie in the balance?
To point out error or corruption is not a pleasant thing. But those
who never hear a true Gospel message from the church are lost forever,
if they do not hear it in any other way. Those who feed on the junk-food
of the Faith Movement and other heresies never come to a total dependence
on Christ Jesus, never grow spiritually in glory with the Lord, never receive
healing and provision from their loving Heavenly Father, never know peace
and joy unspeakable in the fellowship of the Precious Saviour. Do you love
the heretical leaders, or do you love the Lord and simple, needy people
more?
SHOCKING MONEY-HUNGRY FALSITY.
In 1993 the U.S.A. preacher JOHN AVANZINI "graced" the shores of our lucky country. His meetings attracted thousands, and made a mint of dollars for Avanzini and Co.! The congregations were bludgeoned into expecting a financial miracle from "God". One dollar gets you a hundred. People were urged, dramatically, to step out in faith and put in the Avanzini coffers any money they had - $100 will come back for every $1 you "donate". Those in the meetings who had no ready cash put in watches, jewellery, etc. One woman we heard of put in her wedding ring. Regretting the impulse, under the influence of a mind-blowing pressure from Avanzini, the lady asked for the ring back after the "show". "No ring" insisted our money-making Avanzini! The Pastor of the church stepped in at a later date, requesting the return of the ring. To no avail - Avanzini kept it. Only when threatened with legal action was the ring finally surrendered. This is the man who is the financial wizard for Jan and Paul Crouch in America. These charlatans appealed for money on U.S.A. Television TBN. You can become debt-free, was the sucker-bait this time. Send in $1 a day (open-ended) and the Lord will make you debt-free. Azanzini "prayed" over debts which the gullible had sent in to him, claiming by his word of faith freedom from all debt! It seems that the concern and magic words only work when the needy one supports THEIR ministry. Astonishing! The only ones free of debt are the ones who receive the $1 a day. 20,000 people responded. That is $7 a week for each person, $140,000 a week extra for `THE CROUCH MINISTRY'. Now that is a way to become debt-free. The trusting 20,000 signed themselves up, promising in writing to continue to give. TRUE RELIGION IS NOT GREED!
The Lord has said that true religion is to visit widows and orphans in their distress. To have all things in common, financially and in terms of provision is Godliness. This country is in recession, the believers in the Lord can be lacking the things that make for even a mildly comfortable home life - let alone be able to keep their bills paid up and their mortgages. Now is the time to TRUST THE LORD, not greedy, grasping ministries, and learn to be a channel of BLESSING TO OTHERS.
God gives to us so that we can hold nothing tightly as our own. He gives so that we can pour out in generosity to those who need it. It is not give in order to get. It is get in order to give and give and give. Can you be trusted to receive $100 from God, and give $99 to others? Then God will keep the channel flowing, not for yourself but for blessing the needy!
Are you, dear Christian, a victim of the false, anti-Biblical doctrines of the Faith Movement cult? Do you love the Lord Jesus and His truth enough to acknowledge error and to turn away from it? McConnell, Hendrickson Publishing, is excellent. You may not encounter every doctrine in a sample book or tape, but these are the beliefs which the Faith Movement Cult is built upon.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE
- KENYON - HAGIN - COPELAND - HINN
1. THE DOCTRINE
OF REVELATION KNOWLEDGE.
This cultic doctrine originated from E.W. Kenyon. It is a metaphysical doctrine, which produces DUALISM and FIDEISM. Dualism is the belief that all of reality are just two opposite principles, nothing or hardly anything in between: spirit verses matter (or light versus darkness, or good versus evil etc.)
FIDEISM is the belief that religious truth is based only on FAITH, not on REASON or SENSE evidence.
"Revelation Knowledge" can be defined as...
Transcendent, supra-sensory knowledge. A knowledge not dependent
on the senses.
"Faith" means to deny knowledge obtained by the physical,
rational senses;
according to "Revelation Knowledge" doctrine.
The Doctrine of Revelation Knowledge has wrought havoc in the churches
today!
A sort of "spirit realm vs physical realm" belief has occurred which
is not of God.
Knowledge from one realm is no value to the other, is the anti- reason error. The occultic belief that knowledge that comes through the spiritual senses "independently of the brain" is greater, more Godly, than that which comes through the physical senses.
In the FAITH MOVEMENT, spirit, soul and body are separated into compartments,
"radically distinct" and "mutually exclusive" parts. The SPIRIT OF MAN
is seen as the sole means of receiving and understanding the things of
God. The human spirit is supposed to have little or nothing whatsoever
to do with the intellect or sense/reason.
Listen to Hagin as he writes... (from "Right and Wrong Thinking")
The Bible in no way justifies such anti-intellectual beliefs. The human
mind is just as much used by the Lord to reveal spiritual truth as the
human spirit is.
In Deut. 6:5 we read...
Thinking, reasoning, studying intellectually the Word of God is all of the Lord! REASON is not anti-faith, the MIND is not anti-spirit - our God is not an irrational God. God, on the contrary, is the source of all reason. (Isaiah 1:18). Yes, Christianity brings us into areas which transcend reason, but Christianity never teaches us to deny, reject or despise mind, reason - the intellect!
HOW DOES THIS DOCTRINE APPEAR IN APPLICATION?
The person who has been taught to by-pass the mind in seeking spiritual revelation from the Lord, may put aside the Bible altogether, or put aside searching the scriptures intelligently! They may gain "revelation knowledge" by listening to "the spirit" (meaning "spiritual" impulses - non-rational). "Doctrines" are formulated in this way, often, if not always, producing anti-Biblical error. They will, however, refuse Biblical correction, insisting that "the spirit showed me." Instead of solid study of Bible principles, and practical teachings, the victim of "Revelation Knowledge" will read scripture, then depend entirely on "the spirit", shut off the mind and wait for enlightenment to the true meaning! In these paths lie severe delusions and dangers!
The teachings of "Revelation Knowledge" lead people to deny the senses and yield to "faith". " Don't watch the symptoms - watch the Word --- Don't listen to the senses - give the Word its place." (Kenyon, "Jesus the Healer"). There is an insistence that real faith denies physical evidence and pain, and listens to the "Word". But, the practical application of such a twisted belief has caused some to lose their lives, in their sad efforts to deny the material in order to have the spiritual reality.THE "WORD" is NOT simply trusting the Bible in the Faith Movement, as we will see later in this booklet.
All of the cults teach that if one wants to be healed, one must deny the very knowledge of the senses. This is metaphysical, occultism, people of God.
Anti-rationalism appeals to those who will not obey God's commands in II Timothy 2:15 and 16:
SUPER - MEN.
The doctrine of "Revelation Knowledge" has bred self-confessed super-men - the elitists of the church! Not mere servants as Paul stated "we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for Jesus' sake." (I Cor. 4:5). Mere men are to be only humble servants of the Lord, never "masters" and "bondage breakers" as the Revelation Knowledge theology claims - "Kings in life" as they call themselves. This Faith theology exalts knowledge, exalts "faith" and declares that perfect knowledge is available in this life from God.

D.R. McConnell, "A Different Gospel":
This New Thought, occultic doctrine has many facets, impossible to go deeply into in a short booklet. ("A Different Gospel", by McConnell deals with this immensely important perversion of Bible truth). For our purposes, we will merely list and comment briefly on the various errors incorporated in the Doctrine of Identification. Many of these heresies can be encountered in the tapes, videos and books of the Copelands and Benny Hinn.
So important is this doctrine, that the whole Faith Movement rests upon it! Why is the Identification Doctrine so important? Because upon it depends the cult's claim that the believer is an incarnation of God. These Copeland and Faith Movement teachings are the same as "man is God" beliefs of the New Age - man is deified in the Faith Movement's theology. So crucial is the Identification Doctrine that Kenneth Copeland becomes quite violently defensive about it. When describing an opposing minister, who saw the horrors of the doctrine and protested, Copeland said:
(a) Fallen man has a Satanic Nature. Receiving eternal life means we have a Divine Nature - we are God.
(b) Satan, since the Fall, has been given a "legal right" to rule creation.
God must deal with Satan "justly" by paying
him a ransom (the death of Christ). Christ was sacrificed to Satan.
(c) Jesus died twice on the cross, spiritually, and physically.
(d) Jesus had to be "born-again" after dying twice.
(e) Christ's blood did not atone for sin. (f) Man is a spirit residing in a body, Satan recreated man in his own nature.
(g) Jesus became sinful and Satanic in order to save us.
ARE ANY OF THESE BELIEFS TRUE - OR BIBLICAL?
The answer is NO.
The shockingly demonic doctrines are Christ dishonouring and Satanically
inspired;
cunningly, brilliantly devised by an evil, spiritual master-mind.
Let us now examine a little (though not in depth) the fabric of the beliefs, and reason with our Loving Heavenly Father, through the Holy Spirit's enlightenment, about TRUTH.
(a) Do fallen men have a Satanic nature?
The Faith Movement believes that man is a spirit residing in a body.
The Bible does not teach that man is a spirit who just happens to have a body. A man has an integrated tri-partate being: spirit, soul and body - man is all of them. (I Thess. 5:23). When man fell, his spirit went out - it "died", like a candle without a flame; but he still had a spirit. 'When man fell, God withdrew His spirit'. Man's soul then dominated. God created man in the Garden and breathed into him the breath of life, and man became nepesh haya, "a living soul" (Genesis 2:7). The phrase means the whole man, not just the soul, became an animated being. The spirit man is not the real you, as the Faith Movement teaches. The real you is spirit, soul and body. "Soul" is seat of personality, not spirit.
Because of the above error, a corresponding error accompanies it. If man is a spirit and cannot live without a spirit nature other than his own activating him, then when he fell Satan gave him his own spirit nature in order for him to be recreated as a new Satanic creation! (This is the teaching of the Faith Movement). A monstrous, indefensible parody of a doctrine, indeed. Satan has no creative powers, he himself is a created being. Man has a nature all his own created by God. Man does not "draw his nature" from whatever deity owns the 'rights' to him at any given time. ALL THIS GLORIFIES SATAN! Makes Satan out to be a creator and a spiritual life-giving force.
The believer is not an incarnation of God. Man is a "new creation" in Christ Jesus, but he always remains a creature, still a man. Christ restores the image of God - but man never ever becomes an incarnation of the very nature or person, of God Himself, therefore he becomes God (II Cor. 5:17) THIS IS BLASPHEMY.The New Creature in Christ shows forth God's glory as a creator, but he is not God.
(b) Has Satan a "legal right" to rule creation? NO!
Did God sacrifice Christ to Satan, in order to pay a "just" ransom to him? Of course not!
The above is a "Satan-ward" view of the precious atonement of Christ, wholly unacceptable in any way. Satan is a usurper - a thief. He rules here, not because he has a "legal right", but because wicked mankind rebelled against God and joined the rebel angelic beings who had fallen from Heaven. Satan is a renegade, with no "legal right" to anything. Christ was not sacrificed to him, to pay Satan's price. What a monstrous notion.
Christ paid the price that was due to the law. He gave Himself as a "ransom for all". He paid in full the debt due to keep the law and to be punished by the law. He paid that debt in full, as He "redeemed us from the curse of the law" (Gal. 3:20).
Yes, Satan has a dominion here, (II Cor. 4:4; John 14:30; 1 John 5:18), but Kenyon made a terrible error in declaring that dominion was by "legal right". Satan does not "justly" deserve the sacrifice of Christ. Satan is:
A deceiver (II Cor. 4:4); He enslaves to sin (II Tim. 2:26); He rules by fear of death (Heb. 2:15) - and he maintains his dominion by accusation (Rev. 12:10).
GOD OWES NOTHING TO SATAN!
(c) Did Jesus die twice on the cross, once spiritually and once physically? No, He did not! This belief is based solely on a quirky interpretation of one Bible verse, Isaiah 53:9 (see "A Different Gospel"). The belief of the Faith Movement cult that the physical death on the cross of Christ Jesus was not enough, but that He also had to die spiritually, contains massive and ghastly apostasies - a mountain of mistake and fabrications.
If the death of Christ, physically, shedding His blood, was not enough to bring propitiation for sinners, then THE BLOOD DOES NOT AVAIL FOR SIN! Yet, the Bible plainly states:
"(God) having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven" (Col.1:20).
"Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood" (Romans 3:25).
"Worthy art Thou....for Thou wast slain, and hast purchased us to God by Thy blood" (Rev.5:9).
All the Biblical writers made a definite point of showing that the BLOOD OF CHRIST, HIS PHYSICAL DEATH, won our redemption from sin. (1 Peter 1:19; Acts 20:28; Eph.1:7; Rev. 1:5; Heb. 10:20,23).
If Christ died spiritually, we could never be saved at all! Why? Because the Spirit of Christ was the ETERNAL SPIRIT OF GOD, which can never die. If the Spirit died, Christ was not God, He could not die physically for our sin, He could not defeat death - the whole of the sacrifice of Christ is made to come to nought! Praise God, the ETERNAL SPIRIT DID NOT DIE, IT COULD NOT DIE!
The Bible declares that through the Eternal Spirit alone the Blood has its power.
Heb. 9:14:
"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the ETERNAL SPIRIT offered Himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the Living God."
Andrew Murray, in his beautiful book "The Blood of the Cross" puts it this way...
"The blood possesses its power to cleanse and to make us fit to serve the Living God by the Eternal Spirit who was in our Lord when He shed His Blood. This does not mean merely that the Holy Spirit was in the Lord Jesus and bestowed on His person and His blood a divine worth. It is much more than that - it indicates that the shedding of His blood was brought about by the Eternal Spirit, and that the Spirit lived and worked in that blood".
The Bible clearly says that Christ died ONCE, not twice.
"For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God." (Romans 6:10; Heb. 9:28).
(e) What about this belief that Jesus was "born again"?
And the belief that Jesus had to become sinful and Satanic in order to save us?
The "born again" Jesus doctrine is a favourite with the Faith Movement cult's preacher, Benny Hinn. Someone once remarked to a friend that Benny Hinn "sure knows his doctrine." That is true enough, but Hinn does not know BIBLICAL doctrine, he knows Christian Science, Kenyon, New Thinking occultic doctrine and he knows it very well!
The "born-again" Jesus monstrosity has a weird root in Christ- denying, Christ-insulting, Christ-betraying belief which could only have originated from the father of lies himself, Satan. The belief goes something like this:
1. When Christ died on the cross, He became a "new Satanic creation". An internal transformation took place in his nature, just like the transformation which took place when Adam sinned.
2. Spiritual death transformed Christ from God incarnate in a man, into a mortal SATANIC man, who was severed from God.
3. The Faith Movement believes that Jesus was not a substitute for sin, taking our place, but that He was changed into a devilish demoniac!
You find that hard to believe? Yet it is true, dear reader. Can you follow Hagin, the Copelands, Benny Hinn or Fred Price knowing this? (Books, Hagin, "The Name of Jesus".; Copeland, "What Happened From the Cross to the Throne"; Kenyon. "A Different Gospel" explains fully the apostasy).
The apostasy goes on that because Christ had taken on spiritual death and became a satanic creation, Jesus had to be "born again" when He was raised from the dead! In other words, Jesus went to hell as a demon-possessed mortal man, and when He came out of hell, He was a born-again resurrected man.
Hear Copeland on this...
"It is important for us to realize that a born-again man defeated Satan" (Believers' Voice of Victory, 1982, page 3).
Hear Copeland making a Christ-denying statement...
"Jesus went into hell to free mankind from the penalty of Adam's high treason...When His Blood poured out it did not atone...." (personal letter from Kenneth Copeland, Ft. Worth, Texas, March 12, 1979).
THE IDENTIFICATION DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH MOVEMENT has been summed up well in the book by Judith A, Matta, "The Born-Again Jesus of the Word-Faith Teaching", and I quote:
"The Word-Faith teaching's mythological presentation of the fall of
Jesus from Perfect Man to Satanic denies that the redemption of man took
place on the Cross. It moves the redemption of Man to the time after the
supposed double-death of Jesus on the cross --- they assert that Jesus
was the substitute for every man in Hell...." Do you believe Christ took
on a demonic nature, won salvation in hell, not on the cross, had to be
born-again in order to put off His demon-possessed nature, that His Blood
did not atone for mankind, et, al. The Faith Movement does, but THE BIBLE
and all heaven cries out ANATHEMA to such a disgraceful perversion of the
Gospel.
THE DOCTRINE OF
FAITH -
ARE YOU REALLY TRUSTING IN GOD?
The hugely over-balancing emphasis on "faith" has so separated many church goers from the glorious Lord that loves them, that they are virtual ship-wrecks in a stormy sea of Latter Day doctrines of devils. Arnold Prater in "How Much Faith Does It Take?" has written: "What you believe about faith tells me the kind of God in whom you believe...you cannot escape it: the kind of God on whom you have risked everything comes shining through when you tell me what you believe about faith."
If your "faith" has been conditioned by the Faith Movement Cult, you will have been taught to have "faith in your faith", in many blatant ways - and many subtle ways as well. If ALL of the doctrines of the enemy are to be removed from your life, then ALL of the subtle forms of "faith" which are devilishly destructive must be uncovered, confessed and rejected. Satan is having a ball at the expense of many, sincere uninformed Christians! He has ground in many a mind when those people truly want to serve God in their hearts.
Deception, believer, is an ugly thing! Often the only step needed for freedom is to acknowledge the error, but pride rises up and keeps multitudes in bondage. Don't let this be you.
Prater goes on to write... "If you believe in God who answers prayer only according to the amount of faith a person has, you have to deal with my question: How much faith does it take? Does it take a pound? A gallon? An ounce? ... Once more: What you believe about faith reveals the kind of God in whom you believe." Our relationship with the Lord is more than top priority, it is everything! It is not a matter of getting our priorities straight, first things first, it is a matter of seeing that the life of Christ Jesus is all of eternal life here and now.[cf. Appendix `C'] If our relationship with Him and to Him is clouded by "faith" beliefs, or even blanketed over altogether by our "faith" beliefs, then we have lost our way. We have suffered untold defeat by the enemy of our souls, Satan, even if we have acted in good "faith", and are in ignorance of the matter. `Faith' should never take the centre, replacing Christ Jesus. Let us go on to examine your own belief in "faith".
The God of the Faith Movement Cult is an unbiblical style imaginary God who requires a certain kind of faith and much faith in order to please Him. Faith has become a cold kind of calculating formula, which if you get the formula right, will work for you. Gone is the truth about a Person who loves us, our Father who cares, who responds to an obedient, consecrated, saved sinner, who humbly makes his/her needs known unto Him. (Philippians 4:4-9). Instead "principles" or "steps" are required to make "faith" work - that is, to get something for SELF.
WRITE YOUR "OWN TICKET" WITH GOD?
Kenneth Hagin first gave out the four steps which Jesus was supposed to have given him in a vision. The Holy Son of God claims Hagin, said these scripturally unsound, quite humanistic, manipulating words...
"If anybody, anywhere, will take these four steps or put these four principles into operation he will always receive whatever he wants from Me or God the Father." With these "steps", Jesus said to Hagin "You can write your own ticket with God." What four steps? These were supposedly given to Hagin, "(1) Say it, (2) Do it, (3) Receive it, and (4) Tell it". A believer who truly yields in all things to the Lord should recognize immediately the horror of such teaching as that which is given above. We will, however, examine the errors carefully together.
1. What is this "faith formula" or "principle" all about?
2. Where did it come from?
3. Who does it centre on, man or God?
4. Where does it lead the unwary?
5. What do we lose if we persist in these Doctrines of Faith?
IMPORTANT ISSUE INDEED!
1. WHAT IS THE "FAITH" FORMULA OR PRINCIPLE ALL ABOUT?
These "laws", "steps", "formulas" of faith are not of God. They are based on an unbiblical, false world view, a world view which glorifies not the Lord God, but this magical idea of "faith-word". The Faith theology sees the Almighty Creator as a God who had faith in His words, His words bring forth creation ex nihilo ("out of nothing"). The teaching is that because "the Word of faith" holds the creation together, and keeps creation working, that "FAITH-FILLED WORDS ARE RULING THE UNIVERSE TODAY" (Kenyon). The "spiritual laws" which are supposedly established by God to run the universe, can be used by the believer to "work" for himself, in order to get what he wants! One only has to know how to operate this "word of faith" world system.
Read carefully the occult, New Age words of Hagin as recorded in "Word of Faith" publication...
"In the spiritual realm God has set into motion certain laws, just as He set laws in the natural realm. These laws in the natural realm work, don't they? Just as you get into contact with those natural laws or put them into practice they work for you. Over the spiritual realm the same thing is true. I have come to the conclusion that the law of faith is spiritual law, that God has put this law into motion, and that as surely as you come into contact with it, it will work for you."
Are we to believe the shocking idea that Christian, sinner, Godless or whoever can plug into a universal faith law and get results? Where is righteousness, God's justice, God's mercy toward those who trust in Christ's sacrifice? All this is impersonal, rather like the law of gravity, no co-operation with the Living God - it doesn't matter in the least who the person is, or where they stand in Christ! Fred Price teaches that Romans 10:10 is a "formula" for another example of this parody of faith. Price says: "Anybody could put anything in there (the formula) you want - healing, your needs met, new job, car, home, whatever you need." ("How Faith Works").
2. WHERE DID THE "FAITH FORMULA" COME FROM?
It didn't come from the Bible! Do not be deceived because Bible verses are thrown around, out of context, and are used to support the doctrines of devils. This idea of the "faith formula" is another example of THE SOURCE or THE FORCE, the latter day anti-christ, Luciferian belief in an impersonal "god". It is a metaphysical, cultic, New Age style "god" we see in the Faith Movement.
The Christian God is the true God, He is PERSONAL, HE SOVEREIGNLY RULES
AND GOVERNS the universe.
He is not a spiritual law. He rules. Not "faith-filled words".
The Faith theology has substituted a god who is an "Infinite Power" a "Spirit of Infinite Life" - the same god as metaphysical cults.
The god of the Faith Movement rules the universe, as D.R. McConnell puts it...
These "faith formulas" are "energies" of the New Age. They are the "Infinite
Powers" of the magicians and the wicca people.
THE DOCTRINE OF HEALING.
What we believe about healing of the body is of immense importance, not only because of the health of the body, but because of the well-being of our souls, and the growth of grace in our spiritual lives. The Faith Movement cult has brought great disaster into countless lives through their spurious doctrine of healing.
The astonishingly unbalanced view of healing has virtually become a way of life for those who are drawn into the Faith Movement errors. Just as Christian Science teaches that symptoms and pain should be ignored, and dogmatic claiming of "healing" should be pronounced "by faith", so does the Faith Movement after its kind. People major on the healing of the body often, whether healings actually occur or not!
QUESTIONS WE MUST ASK.
1. Where does this insistence that ALL can be healed ANY and EVERY time come from? What is its source?
2. Do miracles prove truth?
3. What do Faith teachers believe and teach about `when' and `where' the atonement of Christ deals with healing of disease?
4. Does negative confession produce sickness?
5. Is a sick believer "wrong", "abnormal"? If he/she is sick, is it "their own fault"?
LET US ANSWER NUMBER ONE.
Where does the belief that all can be healed any and every time originate from? The Bible certainly teaches about bodily healing, but the extreme teaching of the Faith Movement does not come from scripture! The source of these extremes are Christian Science, New Thought, Unity, Religious Science. The Doctrine of Healing practiced by the Faith Movement is occultic, merging into New Age.
NUMBER TWO.
Do miracles prove truth? Many say today "but it works", when challenged about truth to do with healing practices, positive confessions and so on. Whatever produces a desired result must be TRUTH, is a lie from the evil one himself. The Bible is Truth. Christ Jesus is Truth. If producing miracles and healing proves truth, then the New Age and witches, and the esoteric wonder-workers are also teaching truth - for they also produce miracles and healing, but not of God! Reader, be not deceived. Satan uses lying miracles, signs and wonders. All healings and miracles don't come from God. They can come from "more than one source."
NUMBER THREE.
What do Faith teachers believe about the atonement of Christ when applied to healing of the body? Shocking occult theology emerges here. On the basis of passages like Isaiah 53:4, Matt. 8:17 and I Peter 2:24, Faith teachers believe healing of the body is in the atonement. They believe that the atonement provides healing from disease, as well as for forgiveness of sin. But, it does not end there. The Faith Movement believes that the healing of the body is effected by the atonement Christ made WHEN HE DIED SPIRITUALLY IN HELL! The "healing in the atonement" doctrine of today's churches is a spurious "atonement". Christ sacrificed to the devil, the eternal spirit dead, the "atonement" happening, not on the Cross of Calvary - but in hell. (Teachings of Kenyon and Hagin).
NUMBER FOUR,
Does negative confession produce sickness? Will we lose a "healing" if we mentally or verbally accept or acknowledge disease as present in the body? Is it not trusting God to admit illness, or to tell others of one's illness? (All of these versions of the Doctrine of Healing in the Faith Movement are typical of the metaphysical and New Age cults! Using Bible verses out of context to "prove" these aberrations does not make such beliefs scriptural in the least). The answer to the above question is a resounding NO!
The ideas that abound today about the power of confession to inflict disease, the need of leaders to rebuke such confession, the Bible "Word" having power in "positive confession" or "affirmation", and so on is metaphysical in every regard. I have personally encountered the most weird results of these teachings (which are really spiritual paranoia), involving people on the Sunshine Coast, which are heart breaking.
One Pastor's wife rang another Christian asking her to contact a grieving mother whose child was dying. Why did the Pastor's wife not ring the mother and comfort her, herself? She did not want to verbally acknowledge the child's illness or accept it mentally in any way, in case the healing positive confession "spell" was broken!
The family was denied the comfort, presence and love of both Pastor and wife in their time of need.
Another more weird belief in healing occurred in our area. The father of a large family was seriously ill with cancer. "Confessing the Word" of healing was put into action. No "negatives" about "God's will being done" or "perhaps the Lord will take him home" were even allowed in "the atmosphere". The father, sadly, died. For seven days his body remained in the family home, as the church hung on to their positive confession of "the Word" - refusing to allow negativity in. This was faith, not in God, but in an occultic "confession" based on teachings from Christian Science. The suffering of the man's family, the undermining of many church members' trust and reliance on the true God must have made the angels in heaven weep!
NUMBER FIVE.
The inhumane, merciless remarks made by believers in the Faith Movement's Doctrine of Healing are very injurious to suffering, ill, people. How awful to be, not only sick, but to be blamed for being sick. Of course, if sickness is abnormal, due to "negative confession" and not "confessing the Word" then one must come to the cruel conclusion in the end that sickness "is your own fault"! Stop being "negative", "rise up in faith". "I'd just as soon allow sickness in my life as sin" , these exhortations greet the incapacitated and physically suffering ones. (Not always, of course, some of the victims of the Faith Movement are greater hearted and more loving than their accepted doctrines, thank God. Kindness and compassion shine through in a child of God, despite doctrinal errors.)
No friends, a sick believer is not "abnormal", "wrong" or sinful. Sickness is not "their own fault"!
What does the Bible reveal about sickness?
An outstanding affirmation is given in scripture that God does heal - healing is a gift of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 14:9). We must pray for the sick (James 5:14,15). Healing does accompany the proclamation of the Gospel (Mark 16:15-20). But, as McConnell states...
"Christianity is not a healing cult and the gospel is not a metaphysical formula for divine health and wealth."
BEWARE, Christian, of replacing the gospel with a heritage of supernatural metaphysics and gross exaggerations of scripture which take centre stage - and delegate Christ to support-actor role!
Believers can suffer in the body, we can not be fully redeemed from bodily suffering in this life. To believe otherwise is to deny the Bible, live in an unreal make-believe world, and, if symptoms are denied, even risk turning a serious illness into a life-threatening one!
* All creation "groans" under suffering in a still cursed world (Romans 8:19-21). This means believers in Christ as well, we still await the redemption of our bodies.
* Our "outer man is decaying", but we must not lose heart because "our inner man is being renewed day by day". (II Cor. 4:16). * It is already accomplished for us, in Christ, it is certain our bodies are redeemed (II Cor. 5:1-4).
* We may "groan" in an aging body here on earth, but inside us we have the Holy Spirit who is our "pledge" that the Lord will provide a renewed body. That body will not suffer - and everything of decay, illness and pain will be no more.
"For we that are in this tabernacle (the body) do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed (without a body), but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life." (II Cor. 5:4-5).
FINAL COMMENTS ON HEALING IN THE FAITH MOVEMENT.
God does heal today, but when He heals this has nothing to do with occultic confessions or "faith in faith" or mind games or atonements based on sacrifice to Satan in hell! If you need healing turn to your Loving Heavenly Father, and trust Him in joy. God's ways are perfect, if He takes you home to Him - then He knows best. Believers were not always healed in the New Testament. Sometimes they were. Compare these scriptures as an example:
Acts 19:11; II Timothy 4:40; Philippians 3:25-27; I Timothy 5:23; Gal. 4:13-15.
THE DOCTRINE OFPROSPERITY.
What kind of "Christianity" attracts you? Does a Christianity of giving in love, non-materialism, God-fearing simplicity in contentment with having your daily needs met, appeal to you? It does to me! Or does the "be a Christian and get wealthy", magnificent affluence, egocentric more for me, crass materialism of the Faith Movement cult appeal to you? Have you actually been motivated to join a church in hopes of financial success, material prosperity and business expansion? If so, you are selling your soul for a "mess of pottage" Jesus Christ is all you really need.[see the companion booklet, "The Simplicity that is in Christ" we publish]
The Faith Movement bases its prosperity doctrine on a kind of occult, cosmic, Source or Force, Impersonal God belief which is nothing other than the same "God of Forces" that the New Age teaches. Hear Kenneth Copeland's version...
"We must understand that there are laws governing every simple thing in existence. Nothing is by accident ... it is this force of faith which makes the laws of the spirit world function ... This same rule is true in prosperity. There are certain laws governing prosperity in God's Word. Faith causes them to function .... The success formulas in the Word of God produce results when used as directed." ("The Laws of Prosperity").
No trust in the provision of our Loving Lord is involved here, just a manipulation of a force of faith. A success formula to use the "Word".
How is this little gem of Copeland's...
"You can have what you say!" In fact, what you are saying is exactly what you are getting now. If you are living in poverty, lack and want, change what you are saying. It will change what you have. Discipline your vocabulary. Discipline everything you do, everything you say, and everything you think to agree with what God does, what God says, and what God thinks. God will be obligated to meet your needs because of His Word ... If you stand firmly on this, your needs will be met." ("The Laws of Prosperity") The "laws" are set in motion by positive mental attitude. "God" is under obligation to "meet your needs" because of the Faith-Word. Get the thing right - and it happens. This is manipulative of an impersonal law - not trust in the loving provision of the Lord of our lives who is sovereignly in charge!
We must ask ourselves these questions.
* Does the Bible teach a degrading of the poor, an honouring of the rich, an acceptance of greedy materialism and that poverty is a curse which God inflicts on those who lack "faith"?
* Thank God, the answer is NO! For if the Bible did so teach, I would never accept its teachings as being inspired of the Lord. But, the Faith Movement teaches those philosophies.
Read the magnificent words of Scripture, and leave the Faith Movement's "prosperity" in the trash can - where it deserves to be.

1. Why do the doctrines of the Faith Movement lead into the NEW AGE One World Church?
Because these doctrines have the same gnostic, theosophical, Hindu roots that the New Age has - Babylonianism! It will be so easy for the N.W.O. change agents to fit the Faith Movement victims into the overall scheme of things. 2. Why is the Faith-Word the Source or Force?
The Bible tells us that the Antichrist system of the Last Days will worship the God of forces [Daniel 11:38] In such films as `Star Wars', the N.W.O. launched an indoctrination of enormous power, which featured the Force. We all learnt the catch-phrase, "...the Force is with you".
This Force or Source is a complicated, evil, mystical belief which can be summed up only in brief - it is more than a belief, it is Satanic, demonic power.
The Force is an impersonal, pantheistic `god' - not the Heavenly Father who has PERSONALITY. "Every where", "in everything" - not transcendent Creator, as the Bible teaches [Genesis 1]. So too, is the `Faith-Word' `god' of the Faith Movement teachers.
[Although, the personal God of the Bible is also given lip-service the Faith Movement draws on the `Faith-Word' `god' and trusts in it.]
Listen to the impersonal, power force of Copeland, written in "The Force of Faith"... "Faith is a power force. It is a conductive force. It will move things. Faith will change things. Faith will change the human body. it will change the human heart. Faith will change circumstances...The force of faith is released by words. Faith-filled words put the law of the Spirit of life into operation."
Not God, the Heavenly Father, who sovereignly reigns, will save, transform and heal - but the FORCE OF FAITH. Impersonal forces are being brought into play!
The FAITH-WORD is a way of tapping into what the Faith Movement sees
as the Faith-Word Force which rules the universe. They believe the `word'
[not the Bible, remember, not the Personal Christ Jesus] holds all creation
together - and keeps the universe running - "faith-filled words brought

FAITH WORDS DO NOT RULE THE UNIVERSE,

Be very clear here, the "WORD" beliefs of the Faith Movement are identical to the impersonal FORCE teachings of the New Age! The FORCE has many bizarre twists to it! These are amazing times on planet earth, spiritual reality is breaking in upon us all such as it never has before. These are momentous days, just prior to the Second Return of the Lord Jesus Christ. "We christians believe in the Word of God. Without a "Thus saith the Lord" we will believe nothing. How can we believe anything which is contradictory to God's Word? His Word is sufficient to solve all problems." p.53
In 1876 G.H. Pember, the Christian scholar of renown, wrote of Theosophy, formed in 1875 by Mme H.P. Blavatsky, a Russian. He also wrote on the revival of paganism through Mrs. Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science. This latter religious philosophy was ancient Hinduism, the Persian Theory of Duality. Said Pember... "For its central idea is that all matter is non-actual, and `spirit' alone is real." This is the Hindu maya, illusion. Pember believed these twin paganistic movements would form, eventually, the Latter-Day, antichrist system fo the ONE WORLD CHURCH! He foresaw a gradual flood of these beliefs.
In 1875 Theosophy was formed [although its beliefs are ancient].
IN THE SAME YEAR 1875 MARY BAKER EDDY published `Science and Health' and commenced the Christian Science movement.
In 1876 Pember wrote his book, `Earth's Earliest Ages' in order to warn of the horror of these occult movements, and their relation to the Last Great Apostasy. PEMBER was 100% correct!
The New Age is Hinduistic Theosophy, which ends in the THE ONE WORLD CHURCH.
The Faith Movement is Christian Science, Gnosticism, which is drawing the `Christian' Church into THE ONE WORLD CHURCH. Like Pember, we also send out a warning to the Christians, in the 1990's.
1. Firstly, you must understand that the same spiritual principle that operated when you first entered into Christ as Saviour, operates throughout your Christian life and walk. THE BLOOD OF CHRIST cleanses us from all sin, and the corresponding truth, the Eternal Life of Christ is all that is needed. We are saved initially because THE BLOOD was shed for the punishment due for our sin, and we received Christ, through the agency of the Holy Spirit, as Eternal Life. Heaven and home, everlasting life and the fellowship with the Father, are all ours as a free gift in Christ. (Rom. 8:31-39). Now, in our present state as a saved one, THE BLOOD plus CHRIST'S LIFE are ALL. THE BLOOD CLEANSES US FROM ALL SIN,the Life is ALL WE NEED for righteousness, peace, joy, wisdom and being brought close to the Lord God, Jesus Christ is all we need. Indeed, if we do not see this, or believe that other things are needed, we cannot enter into the abundant life in Christ. Just as we cannot mix faith and works for salvation so we cannot mix faith and works for sanctification. ..." P.20
It amazes and stuns me at the same time, how all of these well known and respected men and women could get together and produce a new `Charismatic' Bible.
I don't believe that this is to Glorify God, or our Lord Jesus Christ,
but to glorify these people, and to exalt their ego's.
