LIKE THE SUN!.

Before Jesus died and rose again something thrilling happened one
day on a high mountain. Let’s look at what took place right from God’s
Word:
“And after six days Jesus taketh [ took ] Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,”
“ And was trans-figured [ utterly changed ] before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment [ clothing ]was white as the light.”
“And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses
and Elias talking with him.”
[ Moses and Elijah or Elias were Godly leaders
from Old Testament times ].
“Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt [ will ], let us make here three taber-nacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.” [ Poor Peter was really stunned and excited by what he was seeing! So he suggested a silly thing. He wanted to make little tents so they could all stay awhile and enjoy the experience!]
“While he yet spake [ while he was still
speaking, God inter-rupted ], behold, a bright cloud over-shadow-ed them:
and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son,
in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.”
[ I suppose in a way God was telling Peter
to be quiet! And listen to Jesus. ]
“And when the disciples heard it, they fell
on their face, and were sore afraid. “
[ Very much afraid ].
“And Jesus came and touched them, and said,
Arise, and be not afraid.”
[ He told His followers to have a bit of courage
and get up! He comforted them. ]
“And when they had lifted up their
eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.”
[ Moses and Elijah were gone. And Jesus looked
like His earthly self again ].
“And as they came down from the mountain,
Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of
man be risen again from the dead.”
( Matthew 17: 1-9).
The Lord Jesus Christ Who loves you is not just a MAN who died and
rose again.
He is the Son of God, Almighty and Divine. He doesn’t show us a
lot of what is real in the spiritual world, because we could not handle
it! Poor Peter found the sight of Jesus Christ with His face shining as
the sun, and His clothes white with spiritual light, just a bit too much!
So he started to babble on! The others with him, James and John,
fell down on the ground with Peter when the Lord God Almighty spoke from
out of a cloud. But see, Jesus was there for them. They were comforted
by His gentle touch. And I guess they were glad to see that He wasn’t
shining any more! He just looked like the One they loved and knew so well,
and they took heart.
Christians are very blessed people to have Jesus Christ as
their Friend every day! The Mighty Son of God never leaves us, because
of the Holy Spirit who lives in all true believers. What a thrilling Best
Friend and Lord we have indeed. You can rest all your worries and problems
on His shoulders, and Jesus will carry you through what ever this life
brings!
The Lord Jesus Christ is our “med-i-a-tor.” That means something like the one who stands in the middle. Jesus is the One Who stood between us and the Heavenly Father, who brought us back to the Father by His own death. He is the One Who will always take your side in Heaven, He is like your own lawyer, showing His love for you before the highest court in Heaven.
“...seeing he
[ Jesus Christ ] ever liveth to make inter-cession
for them [ He brings your life and problems
before God the Father ].”
( Hebrews 7:25).
