Getting to know God together.

Zachary and Nardia, the twins, were going to visit Grandma on the train.
All by themselves! It was going to be a great adventure. Mum had taken them down to the station the day before and had showed them exactly where to get their tickets, and what train station they would leave from. “Now you know! Tomorrow you will be able to do the whole thing by yourselves.” It was training Dad said, in being able to take care of themselves. So today was the big day. They rushed around, but did not pray about the adventure! “No time now” said Zachary who was very excited.

They got to the station in plenty of time, after a long walk. Then they bought their tickets, making sure they got the right ones. “To Nambour, that’s right, “ Nardia read. Then they bought some sweets to eat on the train and set off to find the station. They remembered the number of the station, and found it without any trouble. “What time does the train come in?” Nardia asked Zach. “10-05, that’s only 15 minutes from now.” They sat down to wait, and in 10 minutes a train came in. “That must be it, it’s a bit early, “ said Zach. Nardia wasn’t so sure. “Sure it is,” said Zach, “what else could it be, it’s at our station!” So he pulled a very re-luc-tant Nardia onto the train, and they sat down.

The train started and away they went. The conductor came at last to collect tickets. When he saw the twin’s tickets he said, “Hey! this is not the way to Nambour, you are on the wrong train! “ The twins were horrified. They got really scared. The conductor was kind though, and he said he would put them off at the next station and tell the station master to get them on the right train. They sat in their seats all shaky, but whispered a little prayer to God, “please help us, Father God.” And that made them settle down. Soon they were on the right train, going the right way. And ended up having a lovely day with grandma, and getting home again safely - so all turned out right in the end. Phew!!

There is  a “train” people get on that never gets them where they want to go!
They think it will, and often cannot be talked out of going on it. Zach and Nardia had done something foolish, they had not taken notice properly of the railway’s instructions. They could never have gotten to Nambour because they were on the wrong train. It was going in the wrong direction. They had to get off that train if they wanted to get to the proper des-tin-ation. Yesterday we saw that the Bible tells us clearly that Jesus says, “I AM THE WAY!” He says too that He is the only way to get to Heaven. But foolish people still try to get to Heaven and back to God by trying to go some other way. Some  think if they are extra good, and go to church, they will get to Heaven one day. But they won’t, they need Jesus Who is “THE WAY.” They are on the wrong train. Others worship idols, and do all sorts of strange things, but they are not trusting Jesus and are not on THE WAY. So they can never get to Heaven either.

The Bible tells us we must admit our sins, and ask Jesus to wash them away. We must trust Him to give us God’s gift of life that lasts forever, Eternal Life, if we want to be on THE WAY. That is the right train!

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  (Proverbs 14:12).

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. “ ( John 14:6).

Be sure you are on The WAY.
Here is a prayer for you, if you are not sure yet:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I want to be on The Way to Heaven. I am sorry for my wrong doing, please make me clean and new in Jesus’ Blood.  I want Jesus Christ as my Saviour, and I believe He died for me on the Cross. I thank You for the gift of Eternal Life - that lasts forever. And I am  taking it right now.  Thank You!  Please come into my life Lord Jesus.  Amen.”
