Getting to know God together.

Dick and Jenny heard a big bang coming from the garage.
They rushed out to see what the commotion was all about.
It was Dad!
He had banged a mallet against a empty metal drum.
He did it again, and the kids covered their ears with their hands.
“What are you doing, Dad? “Jenny said, grinning.
“You are going to split our ear-drums!”
“I am trying to make an object lesson for you, “he said laughing.

“See this bar-be-que table I have finished over there? “Dad asked.
“Yes, it looks real cool, Dad,” Dick said.
He was proud of his Dad’s carpentry efforts.
“Well, that table just happened with that big bang!”
He started laughing really loudly.
“Yes, I just went bang, and the whole table came into being - like magic!”
“OOO, you did not ,Pop!” Jenny yelled,
“you made it with your tools. It took you days to finish it.”
“Would you think I was silly if I insisted that it was made by a big bang?”
Dad asked.
“Of course we would, what are you getting at?
This is a nutty conversation this is.”
Dick and Jenny couldn’t make out what their father was driving at.
They decided to go inside, it was eats time.

Mum had made them a lovely chocolate cake,
with real melted chocolate on top.
They cut themselves a piece each,
and Dick poured three glasses of orange cordial.
“Do you know that there are scientists who believe
that all the universe was made by a big bang?”
Dad was serious now.
“And all the earth and the people and animals
were made by the same big bang? That’s what they believe."
“What,” said Jenny, “how could they believe that?”
“Well, they have a notion that there was a big bang
millions of years ago, in space,
and everything that is made just came into being because of it. Silly, isn’t it.”
The kids agreed.
“We know that God our Heavenly Father created everything.
He made us for Himself and loves us.”
So they had another piece of cake.
They were glad Mum could make cakes too.

“All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small.
All things wise and wonderful,
the Lord God made them all.”

“By the word of the Lord were the heavens made...” (Psalm 3:36).

Of course the big bang theory is much more complicated than the story version above. But the basic premise is exactly the same - that is that everything was created by a cosmic bang millions of years ago. Yes, the scientists use elaborate words and phrases to present their ideas, but fancy words can’t alter what they basically mean!
Why do people invent notions to explain away what God tells us in the Bible about creation? I figure it is because many people don’t WANT to believe in the Creator God. If they do acknowledge Him, they will have to do what He tells them, and they don’t want to do that. Have you heard of the big bang theory?
This is what God says about those who refuse to accept Him as their Creator

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness
Because that which may be known of God is manifest (revealed) in them,
for God hath shown it to them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen...
they are without excuse.
Because that, when they knew God,
they glorified him not as God,
neither were thankful;
but became vain ( empty) in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.
Professing themselves to be wise (making out they are wise),
they became fools.”
(Romans 1:19-22).
