Perhaps you watch the
news on TV now and then.
Some countries are having
bad troubles.
There are soldiers there
and guns and fighting.
Wars are awful things.
Soldiers can be fighting
for freedom and be very brave too!
Jenny and Max liked to
ask their uncle about soldiers.
He had been a soldier
himself in a place called Vietnam.
“What
would happen if a soldier got hurt,
and
no one found him right away?” asked Max.
“Well,
he could have lost a lot of blood, " Uncle Jim replied.
“When
they did find him he would have to be hurried away to hospital
to
get more blood.”
“How
would that help him?” asked Max.
“Blood
can mean that he would live instead of dying.
Every
soldier knows how important it is,” said Uncle Jim.
“I
don’t like talking about blood," moaned Jenny.
“Well,
I want to know about these things," Max said.
“Uncle,
how do they keep blood for the soldiers?”
“They
have a blood bank. Someone else or another soldier gives their blood,
so
that it can be used for the soldiers if they need it,” Uncle Jim
answered.
“Blood
is life for those injured on the battle field.”
Someone
wonderful gave His Blood.
He
didn’t give it so that soldiers could have blood given to them by doctors.
He
gave His Blood so that sin could be forgiven.
Jesus
Christ gave His Blood so that we could have eternal life.
His
Blood is eternal life to those who are lost in sin and need to be saved.
“
For this is my blood of the new testament,
which
is shed for many for the remission (forgiving) of sins. "
(Matthew 2628).
EXTRAS FOR TEENS AND BETWEENS
The subject of the Blood
of Christ is pretty adult stuff!
We see in the Bible how
precious the Blood of Christ is.
The Bible says, “..without
shedding of blood is no remission.” (Hebrews 922).
That
just means that if Jesus hadn’t given His Blood then no one could have
had their wrong doing, their sin, forgiven by God, ever!
We must pray for those
who are lost and away from Jesus Christ.
Do you pray for your
friends who are not born anew in Christ?
Whose sins are not forgiven
in HIm?
God
makes us pure and clean and ready for Heaven, in the Blood of the Lamb
of God. This Lamb is the One Who came to give Himself for us all
as a Sacrfice on the Cross of Calvary. He gave Himself so that you and
I could have our names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Even those who
do not have their names written there will one day worship the One
Who shed His Blood for the sin of the world.
They will worship Him
because they are forced to.
We worship Him because
we love Him.
Read about the Lamb’s Book of Life in Revelation 138.
