Getting to know God together.

God has a plan for your life! He has chosen you to be His very own person.
If you trust Him and obey Him, God can make your whole life a beautiful success.
Have you ever met people who are disappointed with their lives? Maybe a teenager you know is grumpy and upset because their life is not going the way they wanted it to? Some old people are upset because they feel failures at the end of their lives. They have left God out, and have just lived selfish lives, and all their life seems a mess when they are too old to do anything better. They should have let God handle their lives! You have time to let God lead you into HIS plan, for you are only young!

Once there was a pilot of a small plane. It had engine trouble so he para-chuted out of the plane onto an island. It was right out in the sea, and deserted.
The pilot was a Christian and prayed to the Lord God to help him. But he was there on that island for weeks. He found fruit on some trees and caught fish to eat. There was plenty of fresh water to drink, so he survived quite well. One day he left a fire burning near the grass hut he had made for himself. When he was up on a hill he saw that the hut had caught on fire! He ran down the hill to put the fire out, but it was too late. The hut was destroyed. The poor man was most upset, and he threw himself down on the ground and cried. He blamed God and said, “It is not fair, why don’t You help me. I have prayed and trusted You, but I am still here on this horrible island. And now I haven’t even got my hut. It is not fair. You don’t care about me!”

When he stopped crying, he sat up. And there was a ship in the bay, and a little dinghy was coming across the water towards him. A sailor yelled out, “Hey, we saw your smoke signal and came at once!” The pilot was rescued and was soon home again with his family and friends. But, he had to admit that he didn’t start a smoke signal at all, he had never even thought of one. God had answered his prayers by allowing the camp fire to burn down his hut. If the hut hadn’t caught fire the ship would never have rescued him. The pilot thanked God, and asked him to forgive him for doubting His love.

When we live for God, sometimes we don’t understand some things that come into our lives. If we trust and obey Him though He always works His very, very best for us.
Everything that happens to us, when we live for God, works for our good, just everything! I know because I live with God, and want His plan always for my life. Do you want God to plan your life? I sure hope you do. See what God promises:

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,
to them who are the called (saved ones) according to his purpose.”
(Romans 8:28).

Let’s think about this:

1. Why was the awful fire that happened to the pilot really a blessing from God?
2. Do you think that God’s blessings ALWAYS look like blessings at first?
3. Did God know best how to help the pilot?
4. Was the pilot glad in the end that his hut burned down?
5. Do you believe that God’s plans are always best for you and your family?
