Getting to know God together.

A while ago a woman died, and the whole world “heard all about it!”
There wasn’t a person who can read a newspaper, or has a television set, or listens to a radio, or talks to other people, who didn’t hear about her death. There was hardly a person on earth who didn’t know that this woman had died. I wonder if you know who I am talking about? Can you guess before you read on?

Yes, I’m sure you knew, the woman was Princess Diana, the very beautiful ex-wife of Prince Charles of England. Her death was a shock and a tragedy. It was the end of a life, and it was the big defeat for her. People sat around their television sets just listening to all the news about Diana’s death for days afterwards. Printing presses were turning out millions of copies of masses of newspapers and magazines in many languages - all telling the tragic news! We all saw the terrible pictures on our TV screens of the car crash. Princess Diana certainly wouldn’t have died if she could have helped it.

However, the death of Jesus Christ was a huge triumph! He didn’t just have an accident that He would have gotten out of if He could have. NO, He came to our earth on purpose to die! He gave His life deliberately for the sins of the whole world. He died so that we could come back to God and be safe with Him forever. Princess Diana couldn’t rise from the dead. When she died that was it. But Jesus was not defeated by death, He defeated death itself and rose again into life.

ALL that happened to Jesus was in the mighty plan of God! He wanted to give us everlasting life through Jesus, and wash away our sins. Just like the news reporters had a special job to do when Diana died, the followers of Jesus have a special news reporting job to do now after His death. We have to tell the Good News of the Gospel of Christ Jesus. This is what God is saying to believers in Christ Jesus:
“Go and tell everyone that Jesus opened the way back to Me. Tell that good news everywhere. Sing out, Read all about it! Tell people in every place that if they come to Jesus they can be forgiven, and God will give them eternal life free of charge. Go into all the world and tell them the Good News!”

When Princess Diana died within hours the whole world was ringing with the news of her death. Yet Jesus has been dead and come to life for two thousand years, and there are still people who do not know what His death was really all about. “READ ALL ABOUT IT!” You are a young boy or girl, how do you feel about the wonderful news of Jesus dying for the world? Will you one day be a volunteer to be a news reporter for the Lord God? Will you be one who does their utmost to see that men and women, boys and girls everywhere know the goods news of Christ’s death on the Cross? Will you be an adult on a mission for Christ?

“And he said unto them,
Go ye into all the world,
and preach the gospel to every creature.”
(Mark 16:15).

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for all the wonderful news of the Gospel. It is the best news that the world has ever heard. I am so glad that I know about what Jesus did when He died. Help me to be a reporter for the Lord too. Amen.”
