Getting to know God together.

I have got a blue pearl of great price.
I called it that because I had to almost sell everything I had to buy it!
Do you remember, Lambs of God, that I had a very old bomb of a car?
Remember I had it carted away on a truck, but it came back repaired?
Well, It has been sold and I have another car.
We had two cars here, both were old bombs.
So we sold those and bought one car, with other kinds of finance as well.
It is our blue pearl of great price!
It is a Mitsubishi Magna '88 (second hand but very nice indeed!)
It is lovely to drive as it is an automatic.
It has blue metallic duco, and is very shiny and smart.
I praise God for this answer to my prayers!

Have you ever heard of the "pearl of great price"?
That saying comes from the wonderful story Jesus told, one of His parables.

Jesus said:

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man,
seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price,
went and sold all that he had, and bought it.”  (Matthew 13:45,46).

Jesus had gone away from the huge crowds that followed Him about. He went to be quiet into a house with His disciples. There Jesus explained to them mysteries about the kingdom of heaven. One of the parable mysteries He explained was the story of the pearl of great price. The pearl is the Church of the Lord Jesus. This Church is not a building, it is everyone together who have received Jesus as their Saviour, and have been born-again. Jesus called us His pearl. The pearl is a perfect unity, not many pieces to it, but is just one round smooth harmony. Everyone who makes up the pearl of great price is very precious indeed to our Saviour and Lord. He paid a big price to buy us, that price was His own death on the Cross of Calvary.

Jesus gave Himself to purchase the Church, the pearl. And He is now getting you and I and everyone who is a part of the Church, ready to meet Him. One day Jesus Christ will come again, and those who are His Church will rise to meet Him in the air. And they will always be with Him forever, and ever.

“That he might present it to himself a glorious church,
not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing;
but that it should be holy and without blemish (no fault).”

(Ephesians 5:27).

Have you received Jesus as your Saviour?
If you have then you are a part of the pearl of great price, and are very precious to the Lord. You should do everything you can to let Jesus make you a godly person so that you will please Him  when you meet Him one day. You can obey God’s Word and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Here are some verses which God has given you to obey:

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour your father and mother;
which is the first commandment with promise;
That it may be well with thee (you),
and that thou mayest (may) live long on the earth.” (Ephesians 6:1-3).

Here is a verse for fathers as well:

“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath
(don’t be so harsh and difficult that your children become angry):
but bring them up in the nurture (protection and care)
and admonition (instruction) of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4).
