Then he got all his rulers together and said,
“Everyone in the land has got to worship the gold image.
No one gets away with saying no we won’t !’

So that king sent out a news broad-caster,
a herald, and he said to all the people of the land:
 “As soon as you hear the sound of all kinds of music
from all kinds of instruments, you have to worship the gold image.
The king Neb-uch-ad-nezzar has said so,
so there! If you don’t then you will be
thrown into the middle of a burning, fiery furnace!”

Now there were three Godly young fellows in that land.
Their names In Babylon were Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.
They had been captured by the armies of Babylon.
They were from Judah, where the true almighty God had been worshipped.
So they said to themselves,
“ We will not worship any image of gold, we only worship the true God. “
Dangerous wasn’t it?
When all the people of the land gathered together in the huge plain,
they could hardly believe their eyes!
The giant idol was shimmering in the sun,
its gold was brilliant, it looked fantastic.
It was as big as a large city building.
Then the musicians began to play, the noise was so loud!
Everyone felt small and powerless,
so they all fell flat on their faces and worshipped the golden image.
Did I say all?
No, there in the huge crowd were three men standing up,
and they were very young men too.
You guessed it, they were the men of Almighty God! Hurrah!
How brave they must have been.
I would have liked to have been with them, standing there.

Well, of course the wicked king was as mad as a snake.
He ordered that the men of God be thrown into the awful furnace
if they would not obey him and worship that image.
But Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego answered:
“We will not worship anything but the true God,
and even if you thrown us into the fiery furnace,
our God is able to save us. Even if He doesn’t,
and we die in the fire, we will still not worship the golden image -
so there!”

The king was so furious that he ordered
that the furnace be heated seven times hotter!
Then he commanded that the young men be cast into the horrible fire.
So hot was it that the men that threw them in
were frizzled up just being near it!
Do you know what?
Instead of the THREE young men being in the fire,
the king saw FOUR men right in the awful flames,
walking in the middle of the furnace.
And they weren’t even hurt!
Who was the fourth man?
The Bible said this,

“...four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”

The days we are living in are becoming like a fiery furnace! There are those who would try to make others have a religion which best suits the global nations as a whole. But God has shown us Whom we should worship, it is only the Living God Who created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Are you brave now to stand up for Him? I hope you are, and that you will never consent to worship any other gods but the Lord God Almighty, and that you truly trust in the Son of God who was in the burning furnace with His servants.

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen".  (Matthew 28:20).
