Getting to know
God together.

Kyle and Jarad were going shopping in the Mall. They were going to get fish and chips for lunch with a chocolate milk shake. They loved shopping. “I’m going to get a computer disk that backs up my school files, “ said Jarad. He was getting really clever at keeping things nicely ordered. The boys liked getting around by themselves, it made them feel so grown up.

There was a clown at the Mall. He was trying to play a big shiny horn. It made a horrible noise, everyone laughed at him. Then he reached down inside the horn and pulled out a string of little red sausages! No wonder it couldn’t play good music! The clown started all over again, but the horn still made horrible sounds. Then he reached down inside it again,  and he pulled out a feather hat! The people roared laughing. Then the clown tried again. The music was a bit better now, but it still didn’t come out right. It still had awful honks. So the clown tipped the horn up-side down, and out tumbled scraps of coloured paper! All the kids had thought that clown couldn’t play nice music, but when all the stuff was taking out of his horn he really could play beautifully.

That is a bit like your life and mine. Jesus has put beautiful music inside us. It is the music of God’s Spirit living in our hearts. Sometimes we don’t feel like singing inside, and all that comes out of our mouths are squeaks of complaining and honks of worry and fuss. How do we get the music back in our hearts so we can have lovely music on our lips? We need, like the clown, to get rid of the junk that is in our lives. Wrong doing, sin, can make any life have no music to play at all! Are there sins you should confess to the Lord Jesus? Best to make things right with Him, and He will clean you up, forgive you, and then the music will come out clear as a bell.
Jesus will never say, “Go away from Me, that sin is too awful for me to forgive.”
He always wants to help us get things right with Him. Maybe you need to say sorry to other people as well?

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” ( 1John 1:9).

A lot of sin rubbish inside you can sure stop the music in your life!
There is a Psalm in the Bible that sounds like a whole orchestra playing. “Cymbals” are those brass disks you bash together, they make a huge bang.

The people  were making quite thrilling music when they praised God in Psalm 150:

“Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary [ the place of worship ]: praise him in the firmament of his power [ in the sky, in the universe ].
Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”

Well, that was great fun, sounded clear, no sausages in the trumpets!
I pray that YOUR life will be a joy to God, and that His music inside will fill your heart every day. The Bible tells us Jubal was the inventor of musical instruments. You can read about it in Genesis 4:21. God bless you, lamb of God.
