Getting to know God together.

Jenny said to her friends one day,
“how about writing a book together?”
“I will write the first chapter, Mandy can write chapter two,
Bruce can write another, Demi can write one -
we can get our class to join in as well!”
She was really exciting at her “brain-wave.”
“We can have a book written in no time,
we can write lots of them and make big money!”
So the kids who were going to take part decided
on what the book would be about, chapter by chapter.
They made rough notes, after a lot of discussion and argument.
They decided on the title for the book,
“Bugsy and Bopsy and the Secret Space Monsters.”
Then they all went home to write their own chapter.
“Remember what your chapter is going to be about,” bossed Jenny.
“Don’t get muddled up Demi,
you are writing about the monsters chasing Bopsy on the beach.”

Two week later the “authors” had a progress meeting.
“OK, sit in a line, and read what you’ve  written,
“ Jenny yelled above all the arguing. “
Our book might need a
bit of tidying up, but it should be GREAT!”
So they sat in order, starting with Jenny, and Mandy as second chapter.
Do you know it was a disaster!
Nothing fitted together at all!
Jenny had all about the monsters arriving in the middle of the night.
Then Mandy had them suddenly appearing in a swimming pool.
Bruce’s chapter didn’t go with any of their scenes.
The monsters were flying in an invisible space bubble in his. So it went.
They couldn’t fit the “plot” together.
Nothing went together at all, and they finally said, “forget it!”
Jenny went home very disappointed.
“You can’t write a book that way,” she said.
And she tossed her chapter in the rubbish bin.

Jenny’s book would have been a hodgepodge.
How about trying to make one book with forty authors
who wrote their stuff over a period of two thousand years.
How about if they had sixty-six different man-u-scripts,
those are pieces of writing.
WELL, there is such a book and it is the Bible.
However, it isn’t a hodgepodge because it is a miracle book.
It is perfectly fitted together, every chapter and verse fit perfectly.
It has one centre, one plot, and it comes together as One.
A fantastic message to our world from the Lord God Almighty.
It has been the best book ever written  - always.
It has sold far more copies than any other book has ever sold,
for hundreds and hundreds of years.
The Bible says,

“Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy [Spirit].”

GOD planned the Bible.
GOD wrote the Bible through His Holy Spirit, using men.
That is why it all fits together. GOD could do what no man could ever do.
You can trust this wonderful book.
It is God’s love gift to you and me.
“For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.”  (Psalm 119:89).

The Bible does not make mistakes, as some foolishly contend. Today thousands of locations mentioned in God’s Word have been identified by archaeologists. The Bible mentioned Solomon’s mines, and people discovered rich deposits of copper and iron because of it, south of the Dead Sea. In Psalm 88 it talks of the “paths of the sea.” A man named Matthew Fontaine Maury investigated because of that verse. Within years he had charted ocean currents which are still used by ocean-going boats today. When everyone living believed the earth was flat, Isaiah wrote, through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, about  “the circle of the earth.” Isaiah 40:22. The Bible is the infallible Word of God - that means it makes no mistakes. Some people think the Bible contradicts itself. They say that because they do not understand the Bible at all.
You can completely rely on God’s Word.

Read II Timothy 3:16,17

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God,
and is profitable for doctrine,
for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness
That the man of God may be perfect,
thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”
