Getting to
know
God together.
THE
RIVER OF LIFE AND
THE WATER
OF LIFE. 
.
In God’s new earth, [ it will be a
long time before this comes ], there will be the River of Life. It will
have Water of Life in that River. The Bible tells us the river will be
as clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and the Lamb. Have you
seen crystal in a jeweller’s shop? It can be made into a vase, or a necklace
or bead earrings - something like that. Crystal is very clear and
beautiful. Well, the River of Life will be as clear as that, not all muddy
and dirty like some rivers are today. There was a beautiful river
in the Garden of Eden too, and it had “four heads” or streams that came
off the main river. So the River of Life might have those too. It will
be flowing across the earth in those distant wonderful days, and it will
be Life-giving water to all people. There will be no sea in the new earth,
you can read about that in Revelation 21:1:
“ And I saw
a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth
were passed away; and there was no more sea. “
Hey, the Bible tells us the River of
Life will come from the throne of God and the Lamb, the Lamb is Jesus
Christ. Have a look:
“ And he shewed
me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the
throne of God and of the Lamb. “ (Revelation 22:1).
That throne will be in the holy city,
which will be a most glorious place! It is called the New Jerusalem in
the Bible. Perhaps I will tell you all about it soon. I don’t think
you are too young to know about such thrilling things. Anyway, for
now we can see what the Bible says about the throne of God and the Lamb
being in the holy city:
“ And there
shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be
in it [ the holy city ]; and his servants shall serve him:”
(Revelation 22:3.
That River of Life will mean that there
will never be any more death, ever again. The River gives Life to all.
Do you know we Christian believers in some mysterious way have already
been given the Water of Life by God?
“...Who-so-ever
[ who ever, anyone who ] drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
But who-so-ever drinketh [ drinks ] of the water that I shall give him
shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him
a well of water springing up into ever-lasting life.”
(John 4:13,14).
Jesus Christ was talking to a really
bad sinning woman when He said that to her. He was telling her, and us
as well, that He would give spirit-ual water of life to everyone who would
repent and come to God.
“...Jesus
stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly [spirit
inside him] shall flow rivers of living water.” (John
7:37,38).
WELL, is this all picture talk? I mean about believers getting the Water of Life, and then then Living Waters flowing out to others through them? It is certainly not talking about water like the stuff we have in our taps. But the spirit-ual water that Jesus gives to us when we are born again is REAL LIFE all right. If you let Jesus be the boss or Lord of your life, He will cause you to have spirit-ual water come from you that will give life to other people too! When you tell them about Jesus being their Saviour, God will give them eternal life in Him too! Praise God!
“ Jesus answered,
Verily, verily [ truly, truly ], I say unto thee, Except a man be born
of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
( John 3:5).
