Getting to know God together.

Are you a true believer in Jesus Christ as Saviour?
Have you turned away from wrong doing (repented) and trusted in what Jesus did on the Cross? Jesus said:
“Ye must be born again [have new spiritual life from Jesus].”
(John 3:7).
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever [who ever] believeth [believes]  in him should not perish [be lost and away from God forever], but have everlasting life. “ (John 3:16).
If you are born again, then you are no longer really a part of this world. You are in the world, but not the same as the world. Not “OF” the world. There are lots and lots of differences in the believer once he or she has new life in Christ Jesus.

Today we will look at some of these differences.

1) The believer has a different birth (John 3:5-7; Titus 3:5):
Once you were born as baby, that was you natural birth when you were born in your body. But believers in Jesus Christ have a second birth, they are the only ones on earth who do. We are not the same as people who live on this earth but don’t trust Jesus as Saviour. We are twice-born people. Born again in the Spirit of God.

2) The believer has a different power:
“[This] I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16).
All people who haven’t been born again through trust in Jesus Christ are dead! Yes, they are walking around, but they haven’t got God’s Holy Spirit inside them. They are dead in spirit. So they cannot have the power of God’s Spirit to make them good in God’s way. The Holy Spirit helps the believer to over come “lusts.” What are they? Very strong wants and desires. Well, the natural people, those who are not born again, are over-come by these things:

The believer has the power of the Holy Spirit and CAN get those things out of his or her life.
We have the power of the Holy Spirit. Praise God!

3) The believer has a different purpose for living:
“For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” (I Corinthians 6:20).
The people of this world are always living to GET things for THEMSELVES! They say in their hearts “what’s in it for me?” They want only jobs that make them rich, or make them happy. They live to get expensive cars, big and costly homes, trips around the world and others things like that. Or they might live to make themselves satisfied. But the Christian believer lives for God, to make Him pleased. To “glorify” God. What does "glorify" mean? It means to live to give God first place. To live so that people see how good God is because we ourselves are made right -eous {good living people] by Him.

4) The believer has a different work to do ( John 15:16):
The people of this earth are really serving Satan, their father. He makes them hate God and be rebels against Him. But the believer serves the Lord Jesus Christ.

“If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.”
 (John 15:19).
