Australian version of a New World Order Symbol..."Harvest" Celebrations of Baptist Union Church - "Gateway". On the 4th January, 1994 - a friend and myself attended the Baptist Union of Australia Rally "Celebrate the Harvest", held at the Gateway Baptist Church, Brisbane.* *(we now have access to actual Videos and audios of the entire convention)
Guest speaker was American Sociologist, Tony Campolo. Well known liberal heretic, New World Order Change Agent, Campolo, was in fine style wooing the 1,500 people present to emotional highs and lows at will - he is indeed a powerful "communicator" and a man of intellectual brilliance. The opening honours were performed by Rev. Stan Solomon, General Superintendent of the Baptist Union of Queensland who appeared from behind the stage curtains after a most long and dramatic fan-fare from shining trumpets in his honour. A young buck in the front seats quipped "Is that all!" as the lone grey-haired man stepped forth. Solomon glared in his direction.
A massive over-head screen, it seemed as big as our house, was used to project equally massive photos of full-on faces of celebrities at "Harvest". Each Baptist Leader of national renown was introduced, his huge photo projected, and then the hall shook with applause and cheers. Glorifying man to the nth degree?
The rally began with young people giving a display on BMX bicycles, roller blades and numerous dancing items. The music used was worldly in the extreme. Some tapes played were suggestive of night clubs, other tapes were of Bonanza, The Pink Panther and Elephant Walk themes and similar fare. The skits which followed were very odd indeed. At one stage, a pregnant woman simulated birth pangs on stage, re-appearing later on dressed entirely in black robe and hood! The skit contained reference to "Rock-n-roll Jesus Baby", and earlier some rather gross remarks about wind after baked beans etc.[these scenes have all been erased from the video of the opening night]
Campolo was introduced for his crowning spot with the words "This man is often called a heretic...Campolo is God's agent, et al." He certainly lived up to his prophetic introduction, for heretic he is, and New Age change agent Compolo gave his all for the cause.(Because the whole theme was "change" - Campolo is certainly in Australia to change things).
Campolo's lecture (no one could call it a sermon or preaching) began rather traditionally, no-nonsense remarks ,(despite Campolo's tortured facial expressions and continual epileptic seizure style, shaking and twisting of body and hands). It seems he was not about to give himself away, or reveal his true colour - but a chameleon Tony is not. He settled down into all-stops-out heresy in record time.
Masterfully, Campolo drew his spell-bound audience into an understanding of Einstein's theory of relativity. Calmly changing track, before we knew it, we had ended up in the perpetual suffering of Christ on the cross (classic Catholicism). Christ was presented as hanging on the Cross NOW and in eternal now. Campolo seems to have overlooked the blessed fact that Christ has risen from the dead, and is seated at the right hand of God in glory. No, He no longer hangs on the cross, Tony. On went the lecture, and we found ourselves hearing many strange and exotic teachings. Amongst there were the heresies:
The One World Church will be heavily dominated by the Vatican and the Pope. In these days of syncretism, the protestants are rapidly falling under the bondage of Roman Catholicism - this includes the Baptist Church. In the Catholic mass, Christ is offered as sacrifice on and on, because the perpetual sacrifice of Christ is a Catholic apostasy. How many of those present at the Baptist rally "Celebrate the Harvest" will remember the dramatic presentation by Campolo of Christ being crucified NOW, and be pacified by his words into acceptance of the Catholic mass one day? Einstein's theory of time, not time in reality as known by God et al, then right into the clutches of the Vatican - incredibly clever brainwashing, Campolo.
Anyway, we are not saved by our sins being "absorbed", we are saved by trust in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and belief in His rising again. He died for our SIN - our fallen Adamic natures. He took the punishment, not just for our sins, but to save us from THE FALL.
"God made Him [Jesus] who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
This passage does not make Christ out to be a being who literally became sin, literally taking an evil, devilish nature. He was not transformed into sin, to say such a thing is horrible blasphemy, reducing Christ to wickedness personified. No, our sins were imputed to Christ, and His righteousness was imputed to us; the Old Testament substitutionary imputation is the background of II Corinthians 5:21.
"But God made Him sin: that is to say God the Father made His innocent, incarnate Son the object of His wrath and judgement, for our sakes, with the result that in Christ on the cross the sin of the world is judged and taken away. In this truth resides the whole logic of reconciliation ... Not for one moment does He cease to be righteous, else the radical exchange envisaged by the Apostle here, whereby our sin is transferred to Him and His righteousness is transferred to us, would be no more than a fiction or an hallucination." (The New International Comm. on the New Testament).
See the Biblical picture of the "RIGHTEOUS SERVANT" suffering on the cross in Isaiah 53:11, NOT the most evil man that ever lived - the perfect righteous, Holy One.
"He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities" (Isaiah 53:11). The Baptist Union's Bookshop at the rally made much of Billy Graham, Chuck Colson and Tony Campolo, their books on special display. These men make a good trio of traitors to their country and wolves in sheep's clothing amongst the Christian flocks. How fitting are these scriptures of Jeremiah 23:1; Isaiah 56:10-11; II Timothy 3:4.
Despatch has prepared a booklet which comments on Tony Campolo's cunningly devised New Age indoctrination book "How to Rescue the Earth". Do you, reader, know the answers to the questions below?
"CHANGE AGENTS IN THE CHURCH NO. 2" features Tony Campolo. Price from Despatch - $5, includes postage.
DON'T BE NAIVE and JUST TRUST THE WOLF...CAMPOLO is not Grandma,Goldilocks!
SAID CAMPOLO:
"Here at this Convention we have tried to hold forth the needs of the poor and the oppressed." We can help them "through our Baptist program". "Wouldn't you like to deliver a little bit of Jubilee to a desperate kid" - in a third-world country? (Mentioned Mother Theresa again re feeding starved children. Asked, "Shouldn't you support a child in a third-world country?").
Mentioned "Habitat for Humanity" ... use church money to put up houses for poor people" - then they can buy them back with no-interest loans.
Mentioned Jimmy Carter "is full-time Baptist missionary" (working in this - Habitat for Humanity - ministry) to applause. "Every week we are completing 10,000 houses." (more applause). "We are starting a `Habitat for Humanity' program right here in Brisbane." (More applause!) He then invited people to give their name, address, phone number to two people down the front (following his address) re. "Habitat for Humanity"... said people could help out with work - to help build houses.
Went on to acclaim that "the Kingdom of God is a party". Like the showman he is, he `worked the audience' well in yet another clever, well-staged professional act, saying, "So when someone next time asks you what time it is, you'll say (pauses while the audience shout out: "Party time!"). Likened the Kingdom of God to an Italian or Jewish wedding. Oh, and if people are offended by the Party-image of the Kingdom, he summarily branded them as Pharisees (or at least likened them to the Pharisees - can't recall his exact statement here). Describing the Pharisees as `a brood of bloodsuckers' he again coerced many in the crowd to repeat this term out loud.
He opined that Jesus was down on the Pharisees for this reason: "I come and I celebrate the party and you don't like me!" "Jesus was into partying." Made out that Jesus, in effect, said to the disciples: "Eat, drink, for we're not going to party like this again (until the Kingdom.)" "For a world that doesn't know how to party" we have to capture that - i.e. the Kingdom of God is a party.
To me, this man seems to fit the description given the "filthy dreamers" mentioned in the book of Jude to a tee.
Campolo presented "Earth Covenant" propaganda at the "Harvest" meeting 9.1.1994 - New World Order Initiative!
Further to his statement on Jesus being "the most evil man who ever lived": I presume he said this because of the other things he spoke about Jesus "absorbing" our sin - therefore, with all the blackness and filth of all this sin being "absorbed" into Himself, Jesus is thereby qualified to be "the most evil man who ever lived."
That he brazenly added that this is occurring "right now" - simultaneous to us "being here" - Jesus is on Calvary at this very moment in time (there being no time with God) "absorbing our sin" - further compounds the wickedness of this horrible lie.
