The JEW, the GENTILE & Biblical Prophesy.

A huge ground swell of Jewishness is rising from the depths of organized Christendom. It is coming in a number of forms. The Bible, however, has doctrines which are totally opposed to these Jewish teachings.

What DOES the Bible reveal to us about THE JEW, THE GENTILE & PROPHESY?

Have the Christians got JEWISH ROOTS which they should Return to?

The above statement is being made in a quite a few Christian magazines and books these days. What does the Bible say? This is the only thing one needs to know about this Jewish Roots concept!

Does the Bible say that the root of the Christian Church is Judaism?

Not at all, definitely NO. If the reader will spent but a few moments reading ROMANS chapter eleven, it will be very clear that the ROOT and THE TREE of both the Christians AND the Jew is CHRIST JESUS Himself. What a glory this is.

The passage starts off in verse one by showing that God has not cast away the Jewish nation forever. Hath God cast away his people? God forbid....

In verses seven to twelve God reveals that Israel is temporarily set aside, but not on a permanent basis. These verses show that through their `fall' , salvation is come unto the Gentiles, to provoke them to jealousy. (The Jews, that is, v.11).

The Christians who came from the Gentiles are told that Israel's blindness is only in part in verse 25, until the fullness of the Gentiles be come in. This fullness of the Gentiles refers to the completion of God's purpose in gathering THE CHURCH, an outcalling of a Gentile people for His name, the church which is his body. (Eph. 1:22-23). This should be carefully distinguished from the times of the Gentiles, which refers to the end of Gentile NATION rule on the earth, and the NATION of Israel taking up its place as head nation on the earth (Luke 21:24). The times of the Gentiles began with the captivity of Judah under Nebuchadnezzar (11 Chr.36:1-21).

The answer to our question does the Bible say that the root of the Christian Church is Judaism? is found in Romans eleven verses fifteen to twenty four.
Here we see three important symbols.

The Bible says that Israel is a natural branch which because of unbelief they were broken off. The Gentile Church is referred as the wild olive tree, graffed or grafted into the good olive tree, which is also THE ROOT of both!

What then is THE GOOD OLIVE TREE and also THE ROOT?

A question which needs to be addressed. THE GOOD OLIVE TREE has always been CHRIST HIMSELF! God promised that through Abraham's seed all families of the earth would be blessed. (Gen. 12:3; Gal.: 36-9).In verse 24 of Romans 8, we can clearly see that the natural branches cannot be broken off, yet still reImages THE GOOD OLIVE TREE - all at the same time!

THE ROOT OF CHRISTIANITY is CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD, promised to the whole world through the line of Abraham. (Read the genealogy in Matthew chapter one). Christ Jesus is also the GOOD OLIVE TREE for Israel as well! "ROOTED and built up in him, and stablished in the faith...". (Colossians 2:7). THE Olive Tree is a symbol of Israel's religious privileges, yes, but the ROOT and FATNESS of the GOOD OLIVE TREE shows the seed of Abraham, the Lord Jesus Christ. HE IS CHRISTIANITY'S ROOT, not Judaism.

Should Christians keep... Jewish Festivals & The Sabbath?

It would appear very evident that something strange is happening!
Christians are being led to believe that they should keep THE SABBATH, and RETURN TO KEEPING JEWISH FEASTS, such as THE PASSOVER, THE FEAST of TRUMPETS, THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES, and to keep THE JUBILEES and so on. T
he Bible shows clearly that THIS IS DISHONORING TO OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST! Do you love the Lord, then honor HIM, for He is the fulfilment of all these Old Testament Jewish types and shadows.

The Sabbath was a SIGN of the MOSAIC COVENANT, which we are no longer under. The Sabbath was for Israel only. It was said unto them, "Remember the Sabbath Day, to keep it holy," (Ex.20:8). "Verily my Sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a SIGN between me and you THROUGH YOUR GENERATIONS." (Ex. 31:13; Ezek. 20: 12, 19-21. Compare Galatians 4:9-11; Col.2:16.) Christians meet on THE EIGHTH DAY, as prefigured in Leviticus 23:10-11. DAY AFTER THE SABBATH. In this passage, the first-fruits typify Christ Jesus. See 1 Corinthians 15:20. Jesus rose from the dead, not on the Sabbath, but on THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, on the MORROW AFTER THE SABBATH. (Read John 20:1,19; Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 16:2).

Should Christians keep... The Ceremonial Law?

The Feasts of the Old Testament were a part of the Jewish ceremonial law, which are all fulfilled in Christ Jesus. To RETURN to keeping these ceremonies would be an insult, a dishonoring of THE SUBSTANCE, which is CHRIST, and to bring in an honoring of THE SHADOW.

What is the Passover Feast in typology?

It is type of our Passover Lamb, the Lamb of God, who shed His Blood on Calvary. The Jewish feast was a memorial of the redemption and deliverance of the Children of Israel from Egypt. The Jews still keep the Passover. Christians do not, we observe THE MEMORIAL OF THE SUBSTANCE, CHRIST DYING FOR THE SIN OF THE WORLD. OUR memorial is not the shadow, we keep the Lord's Supper, Holy Communion, as instituted by Christ Himself, in place of the Passover Feast.

What is the Feast of Trumpets in typology?

This fell on a Sabbath Day, at the time of the new moon, the first day of the seventh month. This feast ushers in the Jewish New Year. During the wilderness journey of the Jewish people, as recorded in the Old Testament, two silver trumpets were blown for calling of the Assembly, and for the journeyings of the Camps. Num. 10:1-10. This typifies the regathering of Israel at the Second Coming of Christ. The Christian Church will not be regathered, she will be Raptured. Many believe that The feast of Trumpets will coincide with the Rapture of the Church, but NO WHERE does scripture indicate that this feast is CHRISTIAN. The SUBSTANCE is, CHRIST's Second Coming - "with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God." ( 1 Thess. 4:16).

Read carefully the twenty third chapter of the Book of Leviticus for an account of the SEVEN GREAT FEASTS OF THE LORD. Then read carefully Colossians 2: 16,17, to see that Christ is the body or substance of these feasts. (holyday means feast day).

What is the Feast of Tabernacles in typology?

This harvest home celebration is Jewish, not Christian! This feast points forward to the time when ISRAEL will have Millennial Rest. The Antitype has not yet appeared, but it has to do with the Lord God's dealing with the NATION OF ISRAEL in the restored earth of the Millennial reign of Christ. It is a SABBATIC REST of the millennial age, or a thousand years, in relation to the other six thousand years of the world's history. Heaven and Earth will be in close union, BUT, the Christian Church will have put on immortality, they will have become like Christ. (1 Peter 1:3-5).

We do not keep the Feast of Tabernacles because the Christian Church is NOT the nation Israel, who will rest in the earthly paradise as a NATION under the Throne of David, ruled by Christ! WE will be þkings and priestsþ in Christ with quite a different service and future! (See 1 Peter 2:5; Revelation 1:6.) ISRAEL as a nation under the Throne of David, is shown in many passages, including Isaiah 9:6-7; Davidic Covenant~ 11 Sam. 7:16; Acts 15:14-16.
 

Should the Christian Church Build Bridges
between themselves & the Jews?

God has given the Church one duty towards the Jews, to preach the Gospel. We should pray for Israel, but we can NEVER neglect the salvation of souls! The Gospel is for Jew, Gentile, Male, Female, Bond, Free, Black and White! NO MAN cometh unto the Father, except through Christ Jesus. Dare the Christians refuse to preach the Gospel to precious souls for fear of offending them? Or are we ashamed of the Gospel of Christ? If building bridges means making friends and not preaching Christ, IT IS WRONG to do so! (we know of a pastor who was refused permission to go to Israel with a group because he said he would preach the gospel to them if God lead him to.)

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16).

Do the Jews come to God by a special way that does not involve trusting in Christ Jesus' shed Blood? NO! There is no salvation in any other name! (Acts 4:12).

Should Christians give money to re-build - The Temple in Jerusalem?

Now, to say a thing about this growing practice amongst Christians is to court fury and cries of anti-semitic! Despatch is NOT ANTI-SEMITIC, we recognize the glorious future that God has for the Jewish people, the place of Israel in scripture, and the Chosen Race position that the Israelis have before the Lord! We also know that scripture declares that Israel will accept the false þMessiahþ, who is really the antichrist! Israel will sign a seven year covenant with this false Messiah, he will break it after three and a half years. THEN, this Messiah who is really the Son of Perdition will use the newly built temple in Jerusalem as a world centre of worship to HIMSELF! This creature of horror, who is Satan incarnate!

In the Millennium, there will be another temple, a NEW TEMPLE altogether, built for the Reign of Christ.

(See scriptures on THE MILLENNIAL TEMPLE, Ezekiel 40:1-47:12. The ANTICHRIST sets up a false worship in an earlier Temple, BEFORE the Ezekiel temple, Daniel 9:27. This is the little horn of 7:8. In the middle of the week of years, antichrist forcibly puts an end to all Jewish worship, and introduces abominations which render the sanctuary desolate. Scripture itself interprets this in Matthew 24:15. Compare Mark 13:14-18; Luke 21:20-23)

Should Christians give money to build the Temple in Jerusalem?

That is your personal decision to make!
But be sure that you realize that the Temple will house the abomination of desolation, and Lucifer will have a field-day in it in the near future!
