The Anglican Archbishop of Brisbane, Peter Hollingworth, has made spectacular impact in the media, Australia wide, in recent days. His criticism of Biblical Creationists, demanding that Christians Schools who teach creation be closed, and his supporting of the writer, Professor Ian Plimer, has put a smirk on the faces of the Godless of this country. Who and what is Peter Hollingworth, the supposed Christian leader? Is he a Christian or a New Age pagan?

Peter Hollingworth, whose name appeared on the New World Order leaflets
which announced Global Education, “Future Perspectives Forum”,
1992, is a patron of “Churches in Solidarity With Women”, or “With Women”
abbreviated, W.C.C. I have personally seen Hollingworth at “With Women”
in Brisbane. He was present at their seminar conducted by the infamous
Archbishop Spong from America. Hollingworth shook Spong’s hand
warmly, and joined in the standing, delighted ovation given to that reprobate!
(I cannot recall whether Hollingworth rose to clap) At any rate, he indicated
his heart felt acclaim of Spong on that occasion. Spong ripped
the Bible to pieces symbolically; ridiculed the fundamental Bible believers;
treated the Scriptures as though they were the false, deceptive rantings
of ignorant men; spoke about the “truth” of evolution and ended his talk
by espousing the doctrines of the New Age, Goddess, feminist theology movement.
Naturally enough, one must suppose, “With Women” members adored him! "Saving
the Bible from the Fundamentalists" is also a book written by Spong.
JOHN SHELBY SPONG is the Episcopal Bishop of Newark in the USA.
In passing, let us recall that “With Women” means “CHURCHES IN SOLIDARITY WITH WOMEN”, that means that they are operating with the full backing of, THE SOLIDARITY of, very powerful Churches and their Bishops and Archbishops.
The New Age Centre at Kenmore. ...BROOKFIELD
Peter Hollingworth is a guiding light behind the NEW AGE CENTRE at KENMORE! Hollingworth’s face and signature is on the centre’s leaflets. This centre, headed by Fr. David Binns, is called a “Christian Centre” for “Spirituality”, nothing could be further from the truth. It propagates fruit of the New Age with “Quiet Days” and “Workshops” which blatantly teach these pagan and Catholic mysticism beliefs and techniques: Ignatian meditation (Ignatius Loyola was the founder of the Jesuits); psychotherapy by New Age leader John Scott-Peck; Celtic Spirituality; Images of God; Feminist beliefs; New Age deep ecology; “Taize” worship with “extensive use of candles”; “archetypes” and much more.
A report on a day-long workshop I attended personally follows. Remember, saint of God, Blood-bought child of the Heavenly Father, God is NOT blind and deaf! HE knows what is occurring in the name of Christianity. Dare anyone join hands with these people? Archbishop Hollingworth, who was the leading sponsor of the Global March for “Jesus” here in Queensland, makes no bones about who and what he is - a environmentalist pagan. Will you stand as strongly for your beliefs in the Bible, the ONLY WAY, the Lord Jesus, and the Precious Faith of our Christian Fathers? Come out from among them and be ye separate, says the Lord of Life.
IMPRESSIONS OF BROOKFIELD CENTRE FOR SPIRITUALITY:
You may ask why my companion and I attended the Anglican centre at all. It was not to be contentious or bigoted. We went there because we Christians must be aware of how devastating the overthrow of the Reformation and the acceptance of New Age global doctrine has become, within denominations which still call themselves “Christian”. The confusion that reigns about who is Christian and who is New Age, what doctrine is New Age and what is Christian, is astonishing. We went because we love THE TRUTH OF GOD.
The surroundings at the centre are beautiful, wide lawns, poincianas, large, gracious old Queensland home. Softly spoken, educated, nicely dressed people are there - and they are speaking out atrocious doctrines, almost beyond imagination. They are doing this, as though the things they are believing are wonderful, lovely and Godly. A spiritual delusion hangs over the centre which only the Holy Spirit could ever move, it is as black as night.
SOME OF THE Images APOSTASIES ENCOUNTERED AT BROOKFIELD:
The day-long workshop was led by Dr. Scott Cowdell, Rector of All Saint’s Anglican Parish, Chermside. The subject was “The Powers That Be”, Sat. 26th Nov. 1994. Present was the leader of the Brookfield Centre, Fr. David Binns. Cowdell taught mostly Theosophical, Hinduistic, New Age beliefs, mixed with Liberal theology and Jungian psychology.
“Angels” were the “powers” referred to in the workshop title. But, these “angels’ were not the spiritual beings spoken of in the Scriptures, no, they were impersonal “collective unconscious” representations. Cowdell taught that these “powers” (which were really like the “spirit of revolt” or “the spirit of Australia” in his understanding) should really be serving God, so the Church should REDEEM these “angels”. We should placate them, draw them into God, and thus change Australia, society, our parish, or whatever. This concept is remarkably like the “Spiritual Warfare” teachings of Fuller Theological College, shown in such books on the subject by C. Peter Wagner. It is basically a GNOSTIC error, dealt with in the passage Colossians 2.
The above “collective unconscious” is Jungian psychology. Carl Jung was an occultist who received his beliefs from a poltergeist. Real fallen angels cannot be redeemed, the Bible states that Christ died for the sin of the world, not for the fallen angelic hierarchy, and certainly the Church could never redeem these anyway. (Romans 3:21-25; John 3:16) The CHURCH REDEEMS THE WORLD also, according to Cowdell.
Cowdell drew a number of diagrams showing Heaven and the earth. He declared finally that Heaven was not a separate place away from the earth, but that earth was a sort of outside, and Heaven was inside the earth! Heaven is like a spiritual astral body of the earth. Now this is a theosophical doctrine, which comes out in the New Age idea about the “world brain” or the “earth grid”. Also the New Age believes that SHAMBALLA, where the Masters dwell, is inside the earth. The Bible also recognises this place “inside” as seen in Revelation 9:7-21. There are fearful things which will happen in the Last Days, with wicked spirits coming from the pit in the centre of the earth.
Evolution must replace the old Creationist views, said Cowdell. He was heavily contemptuous of “old views” and fundamentalist “repressive churches”. At one time, when speaking of KEITH WRIGHT, the disgraced politician with a Baptist Church background, Cowdell said he was sorry for Wright because the “repressive church background” had caused him to become perverted sexually! (Wright, as most will know, has been jailed for child sex molestation). Wright was NOT a product of a “repressive church” at all. Biblically sound churches are places of Godly instruction, the Baptist Church in Rockhampton (which was one of the Churches in Wright’s past), was one of these. Wright fell due to his own carnal response to temptation and sin.
The Bible was used often by Cowdell (New Versions). Each reference was presented with weird interpretation, slanted towards the New Age. Cowdell seemed unaware of his deviation from sound doctrine, and said on more than one occasion that he had vowed to defend the Scriptures before God at his ordination. We were rather shocked at a certain 'swear' word which punctuated these protestations repeatedly.
SATAN WILL BE REDEEM-ED, said Cowdell. Origen was declared apostate
for similar remarks. In a theosophical manner, Cowdell said that Satan,
when cast into the Lake of Fire, would really be cast into the fire of
the lake which surrounds the Throne of God, where all the saints had gathered,
and Satan would there be saved for eternity - and we would all live together
happily ever after. Satan and God are not really separate beings in conflict
anyway, he said. They are actually ONE. This is theosophical and Hindu
doctrine, of a horrifying nature. Later, in a discussion group, when I
protested the ugliness of the beliefs that SATAN IS A PART OF GOD, and
that he could be redeemed, I was greeted with pursed lipped disapproval.
“Don’t you WANT Satan to be redeemed? How awful” was the general
attitude.
(Revelation 4:5-6 confused with Revelation 19:10. Note that the devil
is “tormented day and night for ever and ever.”, not “redeemed” at God’s
throne. Now that may seem “cruel” to you, but GOD is PERFECT LOVE AND JUSTICE,
and you have no say in the matter before the Almighty.)

Half way through a session after lunch, we left Brookfield Centre, we were unable to bear the sound of a “pastor” telling the needy that they could come to God WITHOUT TRUSTING IN THE SHED BLOOD OF CHRIST, that they could come in other ways!
The Brookfield message was presented from a faulty exegesis on the passage, Luke 7:36-50. That story became a platform for women’s rights in society, and a jumping off point to declare that GOD’S LOVE, and YOUR OWN FAITH can be sufficient to bring you back to God, WITHOUT THE SHEDDING OF BLOOD. When I pointed out that the woman in the story would have known about the Jewish sacrifices, which are a shadow of the sacrifice of Christ, and that the Bible says in Rev. 13:8, that Christ died FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, and that, as Scripture interprets Scripture, the woman would have been trusting in Christ’s sacrificial death EVEN THOUGH HE HAD NOT YET DIED in history, I was angrily “howled down”! The Bible, God’s Word, says, without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22. In other words, no trust in Christ’s Sacrificial death, no forgiveness of sin, no salvation. The woman of Luke 7:36-50 loved because she was forgiven, she did not become forgiven and saved because she loved.
Perhaps the greatest blasphemy one can commit against a Holy God is to suggest that He can just brush your sin and guilt “under the carpet”, because He loves you. God’s Justice is Perfect. He sent His Son to be a propitiation for the Sin of the Whole World - in this justice and love entwined. Never dare to expect God to forgive just because He loves the sinner. He forgives because we trust that CHRIST TOOK OUR PUNISHMENT.
AUTHORS WHO TEACH APOSTASY.
A number of apostate “theologians” were mentioned at the workshop.
John Scott-Peck (New Age) &
Morton Kelsey
amongst them.
For the sake of brevity, I will make only a few comments on one of these, Morton Kelsey. He has been described as a teacher of “benign witchcraft”. Kelsey is an Episcopalian priest (Anglican in America), was a friend of New Age teacher Agnes Sanford, and a Jungian psychologist. His beliefs about “archetypal” constructs of the human mind, are presented in what sounds like orthodox language. Kelsey persuades, by his teaching, that what is basically pagan witchcraft, can be used by the Church. He does this by using seductive reasoning, that is, as long as we are loving, we can use shamanism, witchcraft and sorcery for good and in God’s service. Kelsey taught that his mother died for him, “as did our Lord”, and declares that the shamanistic “view of evil...was a part of the total point of view of Jesus of Nazareth.” (Quotes recounted in “Seduction of Christianity”, by D. Hunt. pp 130-131)
ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI was depicted on a large mural in the Brookfield
chapel. This “saint” is a favourite with the New Age, and the famous services
which bless animals are dedicated to St. Francis. (Such as the services
in St. John the Divine in New York. John Parks-Morton, New Age earth-worshipping
priest, is Episcopalian Bishop there)
THE MAGAZINE CALLED “SONGLINES”.
The Brookfield Centre has a magazine which expresses the doctrines and aims of this “spiritual” place. In the magazine, called “Songlines”, we found the NEW AGE EARTH GRID teachings, amazing where these are appearing now! Refer to previous 'Despatches' for more on this. (And this home page). The publication was named after the earth grid phenomena, so important is it there. A quote from “Songlines”:
“The title “Songlines” was chosen.... It is taken from the book THE SONGLINES by the Australian writer Bruce Chatwin. The word describes an Aboriginal concept, but it is a concept that has cross-references with the myths and spiritualities of other peoples and cultures (and, most notably for the purpose of this magazine, with the Christian faith). In his book, Chatwin describes the songlines as “...the labyrinth of invisible pathways which meander all over Australia and are known to Europeans as “Dreaming tracks” or “songlines”; to the Aboriginals as the “Footprints of the ancestors” or the “Way of the Law.” (p. 2 of “Songlines”, )
As readers of Despatch will already know, these “Songlines” are the
`Leylines' of Europe, the `dragon paths' of the Chinese and
the `RAINBOW SERPENT PATHS' of the Aboriginals, and also the`
NEW AGE EARTH GRID`(UFO video transcript online), or `EARTH BRAIN`,
the ‘collec-tive unconscious”. HIGHLY SATANIC, this GRID is join- ing the
Sacred Sites of the world together
in an occult “NETWORK”.
GOING ON A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY WITH BROOKFIELD CENTRE.
If you want to go on a spiritual adventure with the Brookfield people,
well you can. There is a CELTIC SPIRITUALITY TOUR, which will go on pilgrimage
across Ireland with one of the CEILE DE leaders, leaving July, 1995. They
will make contact with communities living the CELTIC WAY, visit sacred
areas, and read “illumined” Celtic manuscripts. Who are the ancient Celts?
Pagans with a violent past, who with the Druids, entered into forbidden
“mysteries” of a Godless, evil nature. The Celts are honored today by the
New Age.
CHRISTIANS WHO LOVE GOD MUST BE ALERT!
It is not only that the Protestant Reformation is almost overthrown, in the 1990s. It is more than that. The denominations are rapidly going into NEW AGE spirituality, without understanding the path they take in many cases. Those who love God and stand firm upon the Rock, who are believers in the All-sufficiency of Scripture, have got a work to do. We must continue to present the Truth. YOUR voice matters.
“For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. For
ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage,
if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself...
For such are ...deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles
of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into
an angel of light.” (11 Corinthians 11: 13-20)
I rang another Anglican church and this time got the minister. When asked about the redemption of Satan, he glowingly assured me that there was hope for poor Satan, and if he truly wanted to be saved, well he could. When asked if this was an official doctrine of the Anglican church, he said, “Now how would I know!”
Perhaps I’m wrong after all. Just because the Bible says that Satan will be tormented forever and ever, maybe I misunderstood. Satan could be redeemed, and float on a pink cloud playing a harp. Maybe “tormented” means that God would give him a harp that is out of tune! Or perhaps it is all just symbolic? All jokes aside, it is very clear from Scripture that Satan will never be redeemed. For one thing, to be redeemed Satan would have to have a Perfect Sacrifice to die for him, and Christ Jesus only died for sinful humanity. Praise God for His Mercy and Grace extended so richly toward us, we who are of a fallen race in rebellion against the Creator.
