“Reversible Fertility Immunization”; a “license” to have children; “adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple food”; “global governments rationing the antidote”; “mass sterilization”; turning off all global city lights after 3 am to save fossil fuel and the environment.
Sounds like a segment out of a George Orwell book doesn’t it? But it is not, this is the era of the Gospel of Gaia, the eco-totalitarian global culture. The New Age environmental agenda includes the nasties above. Australia has had the dubious honour of receiving to her shores numerous New Age New World Order leaders over the last few years - the latest is Dr Norma Myers, an advocate of some of the measures above. Jean Houston, occult advisor to Hillary Clinton, has recently visited Australia again; A large group of NWO leaders met at the International Peace Research Association (IPRA) just weeks ago; The Sixth Conference of Contracting Parties to the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands was held in Brisbane last March, attended by official Government delegates. Now, Myers the global environmentalist is here. The Gaia, Mother Earth man.
What is disconcerting about these visits is the cloak-and-dagger way these people come and go - and the media makes no comment. The only way Despatch magazine finds out when and where they are meeting is by accessing New Age and environmental newsletters. The only exception being Ramsar, which was given token coverage by Imagesstream television. Dr Norman Myers is an international figure, a VIP, yet the only mention anywhere of his visit, that we have found anyway, was a tiny paragraph in a local nature-lovers’ two page newsletter. Myers lecture night was sponsored by the Brisbane City Council, who have a potentially intrusive ecology program, and highly motivated environmental personnel. Was it a coincidence that the Green Left had tables throughout the city Mall on the day Myers was here?
Myers’ lecture, on the 6 September 1996, at the Ithaca Auditorium in the Town Hall Brisbane, was attended by Greenies from Green Peace, The Wilderness Society, Australian Rainforest Conservation Society, Australian Conservation Foundation, Brisbane City conservationists, Australians for Ecologically Sustainable Population - University people, et al. Myers was introduced to the podium by Dr. Aila Keto, Aussie ecology activist, and the closing, brief address was given by City Councilman, Neil Davidson. Davidson spoke with wide-eyed enthusiasm about, “One World”, “the Global Village”, “Saving the Planet”, and a global family with no national barriers. Myers, a rather ordinary looking man, said during his lecture that he would be meeting with senior Federal Parliamen-tarians in Canberra, ACT, “next week” (from 9th - 13th, sometime) to discuss the ecology problems and the population ‘crisis’, and Australia’s role in these matters.
WHO IS MYERS?
From Great Britain, presumably Oxford, Dr Myers is the composer of the
1990 Gaia Atlas of Future Worlds; he is an advisor to the World Bank, the
World Resources Institute, and various United Nations agencies. Myers believes
that humanity holds no special status in creation, and that humans are
“an equal part of a community of species.”
(“The Gaia Atlas of Future Worlds”, p.46). In the Gaia
Peace Atlas, Myers being the consultant in environment and development,
these word appear, which sum up the stance of Myers:
THE Images POINTS OF THE MYERS’ LECTURE.
Myers claimed that the world is facing the biggest mass extinction of many species of flora and fauna since the dinosaurs became extinct. The major crisis for four million years! Biodiversity - threat of mass extinction looms. Of course, the culprits he denounced were the human beings - greedy, proud, thoughtless humans. “They will not recognize that their fellow species have as much right to be here as they do”, said Myers. He presented a slide-show, with colourful representations of the plight the environment is in, “power-houses of evolution are being eliminated, and we will degrade the capacity of evolution to bounce back.” Myers said, “It could take 25 million years to make up what we don’t do in the next decade.” There were highly emotive remarks about trillions of people in the future, over thousands of years, looking back and remembering what the crisis people at the close of the millennium did, or did not do, about the saving of the many species of planet earth. The audience was thrilled with his lecture, it seemed, heads nodded, gasps of shock-horror were heard. The time is NOW! he said. Myers stressed the immediate danger of utterly destroying our global habitat, we have lost half our global rain forests in approximately fifty years, species of plants are disappearing faster than the botanists can count them, he claimed. The villians again were the humans, they have been “knocking over” the forests.
Who, what, how?: Cattle ranching; logging; dams; mining; road building; rubber, tea, coffee plantations; and slash-and-burn agriculture. Obviously, Myers said, the Images problem for the planet’s ecology is there are just too many people on it! To be “sustainable” (there is that word again) the population must be brought down to 2 billion from nearly 6 billion. We are in the “red line” here, we must get back to the “green line”. HOW was discussed, with the words “sustainable population”, “one global community”, “mega extinction crisis” and “common citizens of One Earth” peppering his lecture. Myers stressed that we were talking here about, not just undeveloped countries, but also developed nations such as the USA, Australia, Britain and Canada. His methods discussed for getting the population down to the “green line” were so oddly naive that I, the writer, was amazed at how gullible his audience was - it did not compute to one lone listener any way , myself. The whole solution was presented as being contraception! He used two cartoons on his OHP to present the Great Solution to the population exposion, so called. One was of a boat load of rabbits, who were crowded into one end of the vessel, pointing to the other end and saying, “the boat will sink unless you rabbits stop breeding.” Said Myers, “we are all in the same boat, we all need to stop breeding too many children.” The other cartoon showed people this time in a boat, who claimed that those at the opposite end of the vessel were sinking it, again the parable was that we are all in the same boat. In other words, we in developed countries would have to be restricted in our child-bearing and use of the world’s resources, just as the Third World nations would have to be. No one exempt.
When question time came, I asked Myers three questions, one was:
Dr Myers states in the “Gaia Atlas for Future Worlds” his views on the “Gaia Hypothesis”, which is now the Gospel of Gaia for the entire earth - if the New World Order has its way. Prince Charles, (said Myers at Brisbane), when speaking of the extinction of rainforests, added to his prepared speech (Myers’ creation) these religious sounding words, “keep the faith, keep the faith.” The Prince insisted that the “faith” would prevail, and they would indeed save the rainforests. Yes, the Gaia love of the earth is indeed a “faith”.
Myers states in the Gaia Atlas that there is “super-independency that permeates all aspects of all of our lives, and intimately ties in with Gaia.” We don’t have to believe in the Earth Goddess to be expected to yield to the Gaian demands - we have to submit whether we believe or not!
“To become an authentically adult human being, proclaims Myers, it is necessary to become a citizen ‘of the globe and of Gaia’: ‘[T]here is no longer any ‘we’ and ‘they.’ For the first time, and for all time, there is only ‘us’ - all of us humans, together with all our fellow species and other members of the Gaian community.” (Cited by William Norman Grigg, Freedom on the Altar, p.179).Myers expressed similiar platitudes at the Brisbane address.
The Australians for an Ecologically Sustainable Population (AESP), brought
together on July 27 1996, those who they claim are “some of Australia’s
most brilliant minds to help deal with the issues of increasing human populations.”
Held at Coolangatta, Gold Coast, the keynote speaker was Australian Museum’s
Senior Research Scientist and palaeontologist, Dr. Tim Flannery, author
of “The Future Eaters”. Prof. Bob Douglas of ANU’s National
Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health warned of “global catastrophe
in the near future if our numbers continue to grow.” “Save Mother Earth”
was the cry!

"Sudden Impact: The Future of Impact Assessment in Queensland” was the topic of a seminar hosted by the Environmental Defender’s Office at the Brisbane Hilton on 20 August, 1996. Environmental Minister, Brian Littleproud opened the conference, saying that the Environment Protection Council of Queensland is reviewing environmental legislation and will give him advice on better and amended legislation.
POPULATION CONTROL OR DEMOCIDE?
The caption above appears in the book, “Freedom on the Altar”, by William Norman Griggs. We in Australia, as we face an increase in the “population reduction” fiasco through such men as Dr Norman Myers, need to understand just what DEMOCIDE is about. Sharon Camp of Population Action International has written of this. In 1993 Camp endorsed government-established “targets, numbers, and quotas,” and, as Grigg explains, “implicitly endorsed the option of COERCION”:
