Well, it was quite a  Barnum and Bailey circus show wasn’t it? The lead up to the turning of the millennium, the tension about “would modern society as we have know it” end. The hype and preparations, the expectations about a “new start” for mankind and vague expectations of some new, space age global reality emerging when the first morning of AD 2000 dawned. The fire-works, the celebrations, the surge of optimism thrown forth from the media - a new bright thousand years for mankind, a New Age of humanistic Utopia begins. And then there were the Christians, they had settled into various camps in regard to the Y2K bug. Some camps went all the way with Y2K - they prepared on a grand scale for the expected bug. They were the ones who rushed away into the wilderness with enough food in their trucks to feed them for three years or so. Some went part of the way with Y2K - prepared a buffer on a minor scale (just in case.) Then the others were there as well. They buried they heads in the sand, bought Christmas presents instead of canned corn beef, and tried to pretend it would all go away. Quite an end of millennium experience wasn’t it? Two or three days after New Year’s Eve, I found myself sitting on my quiet front verandah roaring with laughter - it was the most astonishing, mind-boggling, stunning experience I have even been through! No wonder we got so tired.
Now we are in February, AD 2000. We might as well be in 1999, there is no difference as far as any of us can see. The new millennium dawning was like passing from Tuesday to Wednesday of any previous week! No announcements by the New World Order, no up-up-and-away with Y2K,  the beggars didn’t even show the golden top coming down on the pyramid on our television sets! My own massive relief about not having to cook tinned sausages over the bar-b-que, or having to empty our human waste into a pit in the backyard, has been replaced with a bleak “is that all there is, is that all there is?” Well, the next part of that well-known song goes on “so let’s keep dancing” - but that is NOT ON!

What do we believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and God’s Word do now? How do we evaluate what is now happening? How do we proceed?

“ ...till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. “ ( Daniel 4:25).

Many of those who had no information about the NWO or Y2K have smirked at the Christians and mouthed out, “ w-e-ll-ll - we knew there was no Y2K bug, and no problems. We knew that the Rapture wouldn’t happen and that the NWO is a mere conspiracy theory.” How smart people can think themselves, how wise they are after the event. Most of those smirkers, in their hearts, were as unsure as anyone else just weeks ago. They were as relieved as we all were when we passed over that “dreaded date” and entered into smooth waters. Yet, is it smooth waters or smooth waters carrying us all along on the top of a tidal wave? It must surely be the latter. These facts, I believe, should be grasped firmly by our readers:

1. The Y2K bug was so real, so dangerous, that our country of Australia alone spent 8 billions dollars to make sure we escaped disaster from its effects.  Have you got it? Eight BILLION dollars is an unbelievable amount to spend on a mere fantasy. Our government is not stupid! The whole business of the Y2K bug is NOT OVER YET, don’t rest up - pray for souls. There could well be problems over the next eighteen months or more. The bug DID NOT leave us unscathed, as train crashes, plane crashes, nuclear arms scares, electrical supply problems, sewage problems, fuel pollution and many other disasters clearly showed. If we could put together all that happened in the world due to Y2K bugs in the last weeks we would be horrified! It is not over yet either. Ignore the birds with their heads in the sand, let them smirk on down there. Don’t expect announcements which will alert the masses to what is really happening with the Y2K bug, the powers-that-be are not that silly. They didn’t tell you before, they won’t own up now.

2. The New World Order HAS acted right on schedule, and is geared for MASSIVE movement this year, with conferences and activities all over the globe. Be not deceived, beloved of God.  Our country of Australia is targeted with a grand meeting of the World Economic Forum ( NWO heads) in Melbourne, immediately before the Olympic Games in Sydney. You think nothing much is going on this year? At the end of this despatch there is a list of just a few of the activities of the international power barons for the year 2000 ( that we know of! ).

3. The people who have imagined that Biblical prophecy indicated that the Rapture and the Second Coming had something to do with the turn of the century, and that because nothing happened then Biblical prophecy has been proved wrong, are way off the planet! The Bible says nothing about a special date for the Rapture, on the contrary, and the change from 1999 to 2000 had absolutely nothing to do with Bible prophecy. What does have to do with Bible prophecy is the rise of the global, political and religious union which involves the whole world. This has been predicted to occur, it is the false kingdom of the Antichrist. It seems 100% certain now that the New Age New World Order is this amalgamation which the Bible predicts. This phenomenon is with us, it is not going away it is in control of the planet right now. Before it consolidates into its ultimate union, according to the Bible, the Rapture will take place - when, no one knows. God does not see fit to inform us. If you have been taught that the turn of the century should have brought the Rapture or the return of Christ you have been deceived, and do not know your Biblical scriptures on the matter.

4. The reactions of some Christian believers in regard to the Y2K bug have been less than worthy of them! and dishonouring to God in my opinion.  Some have seemed quite put out that the Y2K bug did not create utter chaos in society.  As though their own credibility had been destroyed by the close shave we all suffered. Like Jonah in other days they said, “but I told everyone there was going to be a disaster, I got food in and an electric generator - and now I look a fool! At least something of a major nature should have shown them I was right!”  This is like Jonah getting shirty because Ninevah wasn’t destroyed. After all, Jonah said it would be destroyed! No, friends, just be grateful that we are not guarding our tank water, watching our neighbours suffer without food, and that we can sit and watch the tele news at night in peace. Millions could have died if the full impact of the Y2K bug eventuated. Enough have died already in train and plane crashes! Praise the Lord for His wonderful grace and mercy. May this continue to be our lot as the months go by.
The other reaction which has made me personally disappointed is the fury some have shown against people who have given dire and strong warnings about the Y2K bug. As far as I can tell a number of men sincerely and carefully evaluated the state of computers and their programming, were alarmed, and bravely warned others. Perhaps money was made by those who were enterprising, maybe there was hidden motives, I don’t know, but the thing is NO ONE knew what would happen, NO ONE. It was responsible action to give others the information on the Y2K bug, and I thank God for those who sincerely did so with the information they had at the time.  Anyone can be wise after the event.

On the first day of spring, the Association of World Citizens will host the first-annual world citizenship event, which is intended to foster planetary allegiance and promote global government. As San Francisco was the founding city of the United Nations, so too it will be the home city of this expected-to-be annual world event.
March 24-26: "United Religions Initiative European Conference"
Where: Budapest, Hungary
The URI European Conference will be held with the aim of furthering the URI global interfaith program. It will pave the wav for bold new religious initiatives to be presented later in the year.
April 3-7: "First Global People's Assembly"
Where: Apia, Samoa
Hosted by the Samoa United Nahons Association, this event is intended to regionally pave the way for the UN Millenniurn Assembly.
April 22: "Earth Day 2000"

"More than 300 million people in 150 nations are expected to participate in the largest Earth Day ever...It will also be the 30th anniversary of Earth Day. " Thousands of local and regional events are being planned to honor "Earth" at this time.
May 22-24: "Millennium International Children's Conference"

Organized by the United Nations, this global event is expected to bring together one thousand children to participate in discussions on "Sharing the Planet," "Water is Life," and other earth-centered themes. Participants will approve an environmental plan of action to be presented to governments and people worldwide.

This is the month that a comprehensive peace agreement is to be signed, moving the entire region, specifically Israel, to embrace proposed dispute settlements. President Bill Clinton has already "vowed to do everything he can to broker a comprehensive regional settlement by the time he leaves office. " Keep watch as the continuing bid for Israel and the city of Jerusalem unfolds.
September 5-9: "State of the World Forum"

Gorbachev's State of the World Forum, in conjunction with a host of UN agencies, will convene its armual gathering of world leaders to correspond with the UN Millennium Assembly. Discussions will focus on the future of the United Nations and increasing its authonty through world law.

One of the most important events of the year. Thousands of leaders from around the world will gather in New York City to take part in the UN Millennium Assembly and Summit. It is at this point that solid new directions on the implementation of global govemrnent are expected, including possible UN Charter revisions. It is hoped that a parallel People's Assembly (a People's World Parliament) will become a pemmanent feature at the United Nations, where Non Governmental Organizations from around the world would have a voice in the creation of a new world civilization.

This conference, organized by the Centre for Asia Pacific Social Transformation Studies and UNESCO's Management of Social Transformations Programme, will be aimed at globalizing and transforming the world's geo-political regions.
