THE BIBLE CHRISTIAN AND POLITICS.

What do you answer when a Christian political activist comes to your door?
He may be quoting Bible verses at you, could be enthusiastic and challenging, may urge you to become occupied with working for a “Christian” government for Australia. He could insist that God’s plan for this period of time is for Christians to rise up and exercise dominion over the land, or join with other “Christians” in other lands who insist that church-goers are to take over political power across the globe. Have you got your facts straight? Do you know what books to suggest he read that may bring him onto the right track? Or maybe you do not understand what the “right track” is, and you tend towards giving him and his organization support? What is this all about, is it really God’s will for Christendom, the denominations, to take over our government – in order to put down the New World Order, atheism and globalism? In a brief way this leaflet will present the Bible’s answer to: “Is God leading His true Church into taking over the government of Australia?” And its companion question: “Is God leading His true Church to take over in dominion the political government of the world?”

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AT YOUR FINGER-TIPS:

1. Is God really calling Christians “convert” or to take over Australia’s government?
2. If one says “Christian” government, exactly who or what “Christians” are being referred to?
This is of paramount importance! When that “Christian” political activist (P.A.) comes to your door and talks dramatically about the proposed “Christian” government of Australia, ask which Christians he is talking about? Maybe he means a collaboration of churches, the Anglicans, the Uniting Church, the Pentecostals, even the Seventh Day Adventists, of course the Catholic Church with its power and money should be joining in as well???? What about the Baptists and the Lutherans, all those who call themselves “Christians” – does this take-over of government mean an ecumenical power structure with the ecumenical movement’s chosen representatives taking over government positions? Throwing out the secular humanists and opposing globalism, Fabianism and the ethical values of the atheists? Is this what the P.A. means? Well, let us think this through:

The church organizations in Australia today are far gone into astonishing unity with the global forces of the International New Age and One World Church. To seek to bring an Australian government by bringing these denominations into power politically is like getting your cat to guard the canary! Just a few examples here:
The P.A. is willing to join with the Catholics to have an Australian “Christian” government? But the Vatican is one of the largest groups which works with the United Nations and the One World Church in order to bring in the New World Order! The Lutherans are in dialogue with Vatican. ( Vast proof is available from Endtime Ministries should the reader doubt this. It is FACT!) The P.A. would work with the Uniting Church people to bring an Australian “Christian” government. But the Uniting Church is filled with neo-communistic groups that heavily support the United Nations, the Club of Rome and the New World Order! One of the most powerful men in Australia who is in support of the N.W.O. and the United Nations control, and who is a member of the evil Club of Rome, is the  top adviser to the Uniting Church. What about the Baptist Church? The P.A. would work with the Baptist Church in order to gain “Christian” government. Yet Tim Costello, a political facilitator working with the Catholic Church powers, was the General Superintendent of the Baptist Church, people like the N.W.O clone Tony Campolo are welcomed by the Baptist Church, and the Baptist Church is heading into unity with the Vatican, which is another tentacle of the One World Church and United Nations!

 What about the Pentecostal Churches? Your P.A. would work with these groups to form a “Christian” Australian government? These groups are now profoundly sold out to the inroads of such programs as “Purpose Driven Churches” with Rick Warren, Bill Hybels and the ghastly “Marketing of Christianity.” The Pentecostals have been taken over by such compromising doctrinal and facilitating programs that they are working hand in fist with the agenda of the One World Church and the United Nations without even realizing it in most cases!!! They are inundated with New Age doctrines, occultic material and false prophets. (Material available from Endtime Ministries on these shocking facts!)  Now for the Seventh Day Adventists. These are NOT Christian in any way whatsoever. They have no notion of Justification by Faith, they have crazy doctrines about the rest of the denominations who worship on a Sunday being the “Mark of the Beast”, they have a false apostle named Ellen White who has taken over the authority of God’s Word and has dared to exchange the Truth for lies! What about the Anglican Church? Some innocent souls seemed pleased to see Archbishop Peter Hollingworth in the position of governor of Australia, but he is not a Christian, he is a supporter of the New World Order One World Church, and is a Pope’s man in every way. The whole of the Anglican Church here is under the United Nations controlled Lambeth Conference, and the hierarchical powers-that-be in the United Kingdom – which are riddled through with  N.W.O agenda and control.

WHO and WHAT does your naïve P.A. imagine will form up this “lily-white” Christian government of Australia? All that Christendom in Australia can give us is MORE of the New Age New World Order, in many and various forms. We could proceed from here, but the obvious farcical nature of the proposed political power of Christendom to throw out the N.W.O agenda does not deserve further comment.

Can we then see the Bible Christians in this fair land rising up to take political power from the secular humanists? They are small in number and should be about the business of obeying God’s Plan that is shown in the Bible, NOT drifting into flying after a pie in the sky. They have enough on their plates with the Great Commission! (Luke 27:47,48). The tiny Remnant Church would never rise up and take dominion over the political government of Australia, numbers alone preclude this, common sense would rule it out, and knowledge of God’s Plan and Purpose for the Church Age would not allow them to do so.

3. What is God’s purpose for the Church Age in which we live?
      Robert Saucy summarizes the purpose of the Christian Church in this way:
“Believers are here to witness to the coming kingdom, not to inaugurate the kingdom rule. They are here as ambassadors of the King, to urge people to transfer their citizenship to the future kingdom by coming into a relationship with the King today. This focus of “witness” is clearly evident in the words of the Lord’s so-called “great commission” (Luke 24:47-48) as well as in the purpose of the coming of the Spirit summed up in Jesus’ words, “He will bear witness of Me, and you will bear witness also” (John 15:26-27).”
( Robert L. Saucy, “The Presence of the Kingdom and the Life of the Church.” Bibliotheca Sacra 145 (January-March 1988): 46.)

4. Is it like a war? Some of these political activists will be adamant that globalism, Fabianism, the New World Order, are the enemy at our shores, just as Hitler and the Nazis once were, and we must band together as soldiers and fight as Australians did in WW11. This, they reason, means the Christian churches taking over political power from the secular humanists. God’s soldiers defeating the evil enemy forces on our shores. Is this a true picture?

We must weigh up carefully the reasoning of the Political Activist “Christians.” In WW11 the legitimate government of Australia saw the dangers of Hitler and the Japanese. They recruited the young men of our land to defend our shores and fight for freedom in other lands, under the Allies. The whole world was divided up into basically two camps. There were many on our side who were willing to defeat an obviously wicked despot, Hitler and his Third Reich plans for world control. Today our government supports the United Nations, the majority of Australians see the United Nations and globalism as being GOOD not bad. The inroads of the United World power is unbelievably all-encompassing, it is indeed all over bar the shouting, world-wide! The BIBLE has predicted that this One World rule would come, it has! It is not defeatism to recognize the fact, it is sense and facing reality. To go against our government in rebellion is hugely different than being a soldier in WW11! Even if God had given believers a mandate to take over the government, which He has not given, it would take a miracle far bigger than parting the Red Sea to put down the New World Order’s plans in Australia! And even if the apostate churches gained government in Australia, they would not stand against the N.W.O. agenda, they are supporting it in every way, many ignorantly, right now. With a bigger stretch of imagination perhaps a few diehards might  swing a political over-throw, what would happen then? Drop out of the planet? Stand alone against a globalised world. A little nation alone? The country could never survive. The whole world, dear friends, has moved into a Unity under the International Powers through the UN. We must look carefully now for GOD’S next move in HIS agenda.

5. What DOES God want redeemed, Bible-based Christians to do in these perilous  times? What is HE doing?
The Images problems with the “Christian” Political Activist are apparent. He does not know what God’s Plan in the Bible is, he is afraid that if he and others of his persuasion do not act then all will be lost, he works in a worldly way depending on human reasoning and human ways of handling things, he is not really trusting God in faith – and he adds Bible verses to prop-up his views. We must get God’s opinion on the subject, and only His opinion matters.

Pre-millennialism is not the only prophetic insight which is commanded by God to obey His mandates. God has NOT given His true Church a “covenant grant” to take possession and exercise dominion over His creation, as the P.A. may well tell you. God has NOT given us commands to “take over” politically. In Christ’s millennial reign of a thousand years we, the Bride of Christ or the Church believers, will judge the nations, but not now in the Church Age. The P.A. may talk of the book of James telling us to “take over” government. This quote from H.Wayne House and Thomas Ice is important here:

“But James did not. Rather, he talked about “taking out,” not “taking over.”
This language of “taking out from among” fits the pattern the rest of the New Testament paints concerning God’s goal for the church. She is called the “bride of Christ.” Believers saved during this age will take the name of Christ through marriage. This fits into the scriptural motif of selecting out of many possible options a woman to be one’s bride. This spiritual bride is being made ready by Christ Himself, for the purpose of presenting her to himself on their wedding day (Ephesians 5:25-27).

Moreover, the Scriptures, not just premillennialists, say the church has a heavenly destiny and is a heavenly people (Colossians 3:1-4). During the current age she is to make herself ready for the day when her groom comes from heaven and takes her to rule with Him in the heavenlies in His Kingdom. This involves evangelism, or the numerical completion of the Bride, as well as the call to godly living in the present because of her future destiny.”
(H.Wayne House and Thomas Ice “Dominion Theology: Blessing or Curse?” p.p. 164,165. Pub. Multnomah ).

6.Does the viewpoint present here mean that the writer and all those who agree are cowards, sitting ducks, foolish, defeatists?
No way! I can certainly affirm that the worst possible government for Australia might well be an ecumenical, apostate amalgamation of Christendom’s denominations! Indeed the Bible shows us that a monstrosity called “The Whore of Babylon” WILL come into political power world-wide, she will be apostate Christendom aligned with other religions to form the One World Church. Christendom here in Australia may well rise up, but it will be to complete the power of the New World Order, not defeat it! It is not cowardly to look to Christ Jesus alone to bring a Godly rule here on earth, or to trust Him and His protection until the time that He comes to bring in His reign. It is not being a sitting duck to obey God, instead of being swept away into a worldly means of gaining power. It is not being “defeatist” to examine properly the state of the planet at this juncture, and realize what the whole world has sunk into at this period. It is not just that there is massive political corruption through the United Nations and globalism, any way. There is a rise of such horrendous spiritual and religious evil, Satanism abounds. What people all around us need is to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ, and we must be given to much prayer and zealous witness to the lost. Apostate Christendom being in political power in Australia will NOT bring people the true Gospel of Christ; it will bring the counterfeits, which will send millions to a Christless eternity.

The Bible scholar of other days, Clarence Larkin, had this to say long ago. No, time does not change the aspirations of those who will not follow God’s own agenda:
“The “Kingdom Idea” has robbed the Church of her “Upward Look” and of “The Blessed Hope.” There cannot be any “Imminent Coming” to those who are seeking to “Set Up the Kingdom.” The “Kingdom Idea” has robbed the Church of the “Pilgrim” and “Martyr Spirit,” and caused it to go down to Egypt for help. When the Church enters into an “Alliance with the World,” and seeks the help of Parliaments, Congresses, Legislatures, Federations and Reform Societies, largely made up of ungodly men and women, she loses her “Spiritual Power” and becomes helpless as a redeeming force. The end of such “Alliance” will be a “Religious Political Regime” that will pave the way for the revelation of Satan’s great “Religious Political Leader” and “Superman” – the ANTICHRIST.” (The Second Coming of Christ.. Pub. Rev. Clarence Larkin Est. P. 51).

A STRANGE UNITY HAS EMERGED!
Those who advocate political action, and even taking over the government in Australia, have often joined an odd unity – many do not realize this among their ranks! Firstly there is the ecumenical unity, which always ends up with the Catholic Churches taking a part, a major part. Behind these activities looms the One World Church of the United Nations. The aims and agenda of the groups from Protestantism, Ecumenism and the Vatican who fight politically over-lap, then they unite together in battle, to create a horrible gray area with no absolutes. One serious problem with the Protestant political activists is that to win politically, as so-called “Christians”, the P.A. has to take on board anyone, who calls themselves Christian. We will see Baptists, Uniting Church people, Catholics, heretical Benny Hinn style Pentecostals, Lutherans, Apostolic and Seventh Day Adventists et al meeting and discussing, seeking up plans of action, marching  to oppose this or that social sinful areas. Yet, God has told we Bible Christians to not be unevenly yoked; to do these things is disobedience to God’s Word:
“14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
(11 Corinthians 6:14).

No use protesting “but it is different than meeting with apostate denominations in a worship service.” No it is not, for prayers will often be said, acknowledgement given, credence given as to the legitimacy of apostate denominations, as though they were actually truly Christian, which they are NOT! All of this pulls down our stand on the absolute Truth of the Bible’s doctrines. The Dominionist groups in Christendom, those who seek to take over governments in countries, and finally the whole globe, reach alarming conclusions. The Reconstructionists, the Charismatics and Pentecostal groups as they merge together in their desire for political power on the planet, have aims and plans which are so anti-Scripture that they can be only regarded as of the Antichrist! Yet these people are sincere, often holding many sound doctrines such as the Trinity, salvation by grace through faith, and the reality of the Fall in Adam et al. Let us examine some of these aims and beliefs:

AIMS AND BELIEFS:
1. All P.As.want to take Dominion, in a smaller sense this means to have POWER in the various countries in the political world. The P.A. sees “victory” in Christ as holding power, bringing the vast majority of the earth’s inhabitants to a “conversion”, and the rest of the humans into submission to a “Christian” government. To enable this to happen, they must seek “victory” in their own countries. In our case, Australia;
2. They insist that Christians RULE with Christ in His kingdom NOW;
3. The aim has become to ESTABLISH RULE or Dominion right now, and to see Christ’s Kingdom consume all other kingdoms, with themselves of course powering out there to accomplish this;
4. There is often a denial of God’s Covenant with Israel to give them the Holy Land, and those covenants about the Holy Land have been transposed to the P.A. groups, as though Christians had been promised “the land” or the country (in our case Australia) by Covenant with God;
5.  Most are anti-Rapture, and the message given by the P.A. is that the Rapture is a “longing to escape from the World, instead of taking political power from evil doers;”
6. There is much emphasis on Law throughout the P.A.’s teachings, they may quote such people as R.J. Rushdoony, Francis Shaeffer,  Gary DeMarr – many others. The Old Testament laws and national government structures are used extensively and out of context;
7. The Reconstructionists and Dominionists do not want to wait for Christ’s Second Coming, for HIM to set up His kingdom on earth! This applies whether the P.A. is wanting dominion over Australia, or in a larger sense the whole globe!
   This quote can be helpful here to show the kind of unbiblical beliefs in those who      desire to rule and reign on earth in Christ Jesus’ place:
“The Bible teaches that the Second Coming of Christ…will take place at the end of the Millennium….Until then, Christ and His people are marching forth from strength to strength, from victory to victory. We shall overcome [politically].”
(David Chilton “Paradise Restored” p.148).
8. The astonishing apostasy of the Latter Rain prophets, the Manifest Sons of God, has many counterparts in the Reconstructionist’s camp. Here are three quotes which show this correlation:
Manifest Sons of God:
“Jesus Christ has now done all He can do, and he waits at the right hand of His father, until you and I as sons of God, become manifest and make this world His footstool.”
(Earl Paulk, Handwriting on the Wall, p.20).
“The true Body of Christ, which is the True Church, will eventually become mature and be manifested as God’s great family of Sons.”
(George R.Hawkin. cited by MacPherson, Can the Elect be Deceived? P.56).
Reconstructionists:
“The whole creation awaits the godly dominion of the New Creation saints of God (Romans 8:19-23)….The whole creation groans and travails in pain earnestly awaiting the manifestation of the sons of God (Romans 8:22.19). (Kenneth J.Gentry. Jr., The Greatness of the Great Commission,” Journal of Christian Reconstruction 7(Winter 1981): p.p.39,47.)
9. Most Political Activists see a revival coming!!! Which will of course (to them) involve a time when the national and global political systems and government globally will be under the control of the “Christian” churches. This is always seen as time of peace and safety on the earth, law and order will prevail, and they see this time as a period when the society will be under the Bible as the rule of life.
10. The P.A. believes that there will be unity of Christendom, with a one-world Christian order being set up, or in a smaller sense, united churches leading a national Christian order. Often the deviant belief that the Church is Spiritual Israel goes along with the idea of a united Christendom in a national or global order. The P.A. will be deceived into the error that Christians have entered into a covenant with God, and He has given them the land to rule over, just as He once did for Israel when they took over Canaan.

ANSWERS COMING UP!
1. God has not called the Christian believers to take over countries politically and to rule in government. We are called to evangelize, and to gain the victory over that which GOD wants us to have. Here is a wonderful passage from the book by Dave Hunt, “Whatever Happened to Heaven?”
“Through His death, burial, and resurrection Christ triumphed over sin, Satan, death, and hell. Nor is that victory dependent at all upon mankind’s evaluation or response to His cross. The infinite victory He won there was not at all dimmed by the fact that just before Christ went to the cross “all the disciples forsook Him and fled” (Matthew 26:56). [Gary] North, however [North is a well known P.A.], requires that anything less than the conversion of the vast majority of the world and the Christianization of the reImagesder would be “our defeat by Satan’s forces” and “make Jesus a loser in history.” By that definition, Christ died a loser in history and His death upon the cross was a defeat, for when He returned to heaven He left only a small handful of followers upon earth in spite of all He had wrought.
Yet the cross is the Christian’s example and represents the kind of victory we must win. The Christian’s battle is not against people or kingdoms [secular governments] or institutions but against the deceitful wickedness of his own heart and against the evil world system and the devil. In that fight of faith, denying self and taking up the cross to follow Christ in His submission to the Father’s will and being rejected by the world is the only means of victory. And that victory has nothing to do with taking over worldly institutions or governments or with how many people respond to the gospel.”
(“Whatever Happen to Heaven?” p.273. Harvest House Publishers.)

2. Christians do not rule with Christ NOW, nor do they have a mandate to exercise that rule by taking His Kingdom power and setting up a “Christian kingdom” over a nation like Australia! There is much misquoting of Scripture to present this view on the part of the P.A.. Christians are NOT called to reign over the earth or Australia in this present age, which is an age when we share the rejection of Christ and live by faith in God’s Grace. This is the Church Age, not the Millennium Reign of our Lord! Not until the Almighty Lord Jesus Christ comes back to earth will Christians take reign over the planet. Then we will have immortal bodies, we will be glorified in Christ, we will share the reign of the mighty resurrected Christ Jesus! But, that will not happen now. This quote from Dave Hunt will help our understanding:
“Mistaking the present for the millennium causes the dominionists to seek, and perhaps most of them very sincerely, a power over human culture that does not belong to mortal man.” (ibid. p. 231).

3. Christ’s kingdom will NOT consume all other kingdoms, including the Australian government! No, this nation will reImages a part of the global powers-that-be, the United Nations and other international authorities will hold sway over our country – until Jesus comes and takes the rule of the entire earth. And He will do this with much shedding of blood! Here is just an example of what will preempt Christ’s Kingdom consuming all other kingdoms:
“And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:” (Revelation 6: 13-16).

4. God HAS made a covenant with Israel, that they should inherit the Holy Land. This has not been removed or replaced by the Church, nor has God made a covenant with the Christian Church to give them “the land” as an inheritance. All the wonderful promises that God gives to Israel about the land of Canaan, or the promises like Deuteronomy 4:38, which are numerous, are NOT for the Christian Church today! Various forms of “Replacement Theology” can never alter God’s unalterable promises to Israel and turn them into promises for Christendom! How do we know that these are not promises to the Christian Church? Because the Bible clearly states in the context that they are inheritance and dominion promises to Israel and the Jews. Be not deceived!

Other passages can be applied by the P.A. which are completely out of their framework! Here is one favourite promise that the P.A. might use, the actual promise is made to the Lord Jesus Christ, not the political Christians! All of the passage is talking about the Millennial Reign of Christ! Look at verse seven to see WHO is spoken of:
“Ask of me, and I shall give [thee] the heathen [for] thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth [for] thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.” (Psalm 2:8,9).
“I will declare the decree: the Lord has said unto, Thou art my Son [Jesus Christ]; this day have I begotten thee.” (Psalm 2:7).

5. Although the Rapture puts an utter stop to the notions of the Reconstructions, the political activists and the dominionists, one does not have to hold a Pre-Tribulational Rapture view in order to accept the plain teachings of God’s Word on our duty, aims and agenda in the Church Age. Those who believe we can just keep going here on earth for thousands of years yet, or who simply do not want to wait for dominion until the Lord Jesus comes again, should come back to the Bible, study it properly in context, understand prophecy, and obey the Lord’s agenda!
The Church can never reconstruct society, it is a vain attempt with serious repercussions for those who suffer from this deception! The Church Age is about gathering a Bride for Christ, the Church is made up of the “called out ones”, it is not a world-conquering army.

See this astonishing verse, which tells us that “flesh and blood” CANNOT inherit the Kingdom of God, nor can it inherit the land of Australia by the way. No we have to wait until we have put on immortality for that. Note the Rapture in these verses:
“Now this I say, brethren, that FLESH AND BLOOD CANNOT INHERIT THE KINGDOM OF GOD; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (1 Corinthians 15:50-53).

6. The P.A. might speak much about the Law of the Old Testament. He can insist that the “Law” must be the moral and ethical standard over our country, enforced by the “Christians.” Here we must understand what this “Law” can mean! Let us have a brief outline of some of what might be intended here:

a) The Old Testament laws for Israel were written before the Age of Grace in which we live. The period of history was a long time ago, and the full laws of that time can be very severe, whilst the New Testament commands and the Grace in Christ Jesus is far more expressive of God’s magnitude of mercy in the Saviour. Can you envision a society ruled by Old Testament laws which include the death penalty for a child who continues to disobey parents? Does God change in His laws and commandments? Yes, He does! Let us look at a few examples here, of what is expected of us in the Age of Grace, the Church Age.  In the Old Testament Israel forbad adultery and demanded death by stoning of those found guilty of this crime. The codes of Israel contained this punishment. However, when Christ Jesus came He did not demand such a penalty, and He was GOD! He told the woman’s accusers to look at their own sin. (See John chapter 8 and Matthew 5:28 & 32).  The apostle Paul did not demand that the man living with his father’s wife should be stoned, he said that all fellowship should be taken away from him! He suffered Church discipline, not death. He was called upon to repent. There was no death penalty for heretics in the New Testament, as would have been in the Old Testament codes and laws for Israel.
b) The difference between the period in which we live and the Old Testament period is almost never taken into account by the P.A. groups. They always quote laws and codes from the O.T., and seek to enforce these upon our country and the world. Note in any of the literature you may receive from the P.A. how many O.T. Bible verses on Law are included, yet most Christians only see in these quotes the Ten Commandments. No reader, far more than the Ten Commandments are implied. We once had boxes containing hundreds of leaflets brought to us by a P.A. who was standing for local governments in our area. We read them and we were horrified at the contents! All the O.T. laws on stoning disobedient children, the death penalty for homosexuals and adulterous people, harsh and severe beyond imagination in this period when God is calling upon the ungodly to be saved by Grace through faith! Beware the P.A. who wants O.T. laws and powerful church groups in control of this country! All that glitters is not gold! (See our booklet on laws, “Which Law What Law? By this author). Here is a quote from H.Wayne House and Thomas Ice:

“The codes of Israel reflect the character of God in ceremonial, moral, and civil expressions; none of these manifestations are ever presented as superior to the others nor severable. These three are inseparable parts of the law of God FOR ISRAEL. Paul in Colossians 2:16-17 states that Christians are not to allow themselves to be judged regarding the law, either in dietary practices of the law or the observances of the sabbath day. The writer of Hebrews says in chapter 4 and 10 that not only the “ceremonial law” is fulfilled in Christ but also the sabbath. The WHOLE LAW was fulfilled in Christ, not just part of the law, it stands or falls as a whole.”  (emphasis added).
(Dominion Theology:Blessing or Curse?” p. 89. Pub. Multnomah).

7. The Church will NOT overcome politically before the Second Coming of Christ! The Bible is very plain on this. The overcoming will be accomplished by Christ alone, when He returns. This setting up of the Kingdom of God on earth, the Millennium Reign, will include such major catastrophic events that only GOD in sending HIS SON can bring about the Kingdom on earth. Consider just a few events which can be noted in a short article:
God will intervene in our world, after the terrible wrath of the Tribulation of seven years, and He will end the enmity of mankind against animals, and animals against humans. (Isaiah 65:25).
 “But with righteousness shall he [Christ] judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.” (Isaiah 11: 4-6).
Sickness will be removed, the earth’s conditions will be changed completely. This is what the future Kingdom of God will be like, not just a political victory. No men can do these things, even the Recontructionists with their plans for conquest.

“But there the glorious LORD  will be unto us a place of broad rivers and streams; wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.
Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not well strengthen their mast, they could not spread the sail: then is the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame take the prey.
And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.” (Isaiah 33:21-24).

8. The Manifest Sons of God have very close doctrines to most Political Activists in that they jump the gun. The P.A. may not believe that all creation awaits the Church taking power over the governments of the earth, then all creation will be changed as the Church establishes the Kingdom, but he can have aims which correlate to both the New Age and the extreme Manifest Sons of God apostasy in the “Christian” churches. ALL those groups see a Kingdom of God approaching which has NO personal presence of the King Jesus and has NO Tribulation which precedes the reign of men. Everything has to do with religious men taking over power globally or nationally, and the whole glory goes to the men “of God’ exercising their own “spiritual authority.” The mighty Presence of Jesus Christ is not needed. ALL groups, even the New Age, speak of the “Christ” who will bless their efforts.
9. Most Political Activists see a revival coming, or hope for a revival. Whether it is a revival of spiritual, moral and ethical purity in the country or a revival also of spiritual significance. Note this quote from an Australian P.A. book by Ernest Verity, ”Christians in Politics.”
“Either God rules or Satan dictates! The man holding the chief office is either the pawn of the Devil or the servant of God. When “the people” acknowledge the Lordship of God, “the nation” will be the “inheritance” of the Lord. What are we doing to reverse the downward spiral into chaos and slavery? Make a stand for Christian Government and give God the glory!” (p.80).

There will never be a time on this earth when the “downward spiral” is reversed, not until Jesus Christ comes again. We live in a fallen world of chaos, evil and face always the possibility of persecution as God’s people. Did Paul and the early disciples seek to overthrown Rome? No! Did they make the Gospel preaching a secondary thing to being society changers? No! There was no “peace and safety” and culture transformation awaiting them in the Church Age. They suffered in an alien culture, they were in the world but not of it, they did not consider themselves to be superior to their Lord, they bled and died just as He did in an evil world. It will always be so for God’s true Church, until Jesus Christ makes them into rulers in the Millennium Reign. How do we really give God the glory? Not by “Christian” government, which would undoubtedly include the Dominion Theology P.As, the Liberation Theology groups from the Catholic Church, the ecumenical movement with every heretical doctrines under the sun, and the denominations already controlled by the UN – which has massive inroads into our own denominations right now in Australia. How do we believers give God the glory? By calling on the lost to be reconciled to God through Christ Jesus’ shed Blood, and by winning the victory over self and sin through the sanctifying beauty of Christ living in us. We will then shine as lights in a wicked and perverse generation and nation.
10. A one-world “Christian” order globally will no doubt come about, but it will be an ecumenical, amalgamated arm of the One World Church! This emerging One World Church is indeed highly political, it has ties with the United Nations and the Vatican, and is indeed empowered by these gigantic organizations. Do not imagine that a “Christian” governmental rule can come in Australia without the powers of the UN and the Vatican being involved. The National Council of Churches (once called here the World Council of Churches) would be a strength in such a political take-over as well, this organization is controlled by evil groups such as the Parliament of World’s Religions, behind which hovers the United Nations! All roads outside God’s revealed will in the Bible lead to the UN and the Vatican!!!! These are perilous and deceptive times we live in! Anyone who calls themselves “Christian” and works for political power is often welcomed by the P.A., who naively thinks that they can embrace these people, accept their denominations and their doctrines with love. The P.A. is often blind to the bigger picture, and rushes into the arms of enemy by awful mistake:
“As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.” (Amos 5:19).

SEE THE ONE WORLD CHURCH IN ITS HORROR RELIGIOUS/POLITICAL RULE.
She is drunk with the blood of the redeemed of God!
“So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: …” (Revelation 17: 4-6).

WHAT MUST WE BELIEVERS DO TODAY IN THE CHURCH AGE?
“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgement and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts [not the church] will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:7).
The signs of the Return of Christ are all around us. We must be about the Lord’s business with much prayer and self-sacrifice. Do you truly love the Lord Jesus Christ? Then His concern is with those who will be lost when He returns, those who will go through the Tribulation and eventually (if they do not repent) will suffer in hell for all eternity. If you love the Lord then let others know of His Bloody sacrifice on their behalf, trust Him that He will take us to be with Him forever. Let Him take the world and our nation Himself, He alone is worthy and has the might.

Don’t follow a loose cannon, a P.A. who does not obey God’s Plan for the Church. We are representatives of Heaven, ambassadors on earth, citizens of Heaven not of earth. We are IN the world but not OF the world. We have a Heavenly and spiritual work to do, whilst there is still time. We Christians who truly love the Lord can never make our country peaceful and safe for ourselves and our families by taking political rule into our own hands, as the P.A. postulates. We are not failures in the world if we do not do so, either. Christ Himself was not a failure, although He died as a criminal. He was not a failure although He refused to take up plans for a revolution against Rome! Wasn’t this the basis of why the Son of Perdition, Judas, betrayed Him? Jesus would NOT take political rule outside God’s mandated time-slot! And Judas despised Christ for this, considering Him to be a failure. Judas had many reasons why He betrayed Christ, but certainly he wanted political power, position, money and safety, and Christ would not deliver! Let us not betray our Lord as he did for similar reasons:
“If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.” (John 15: 18-21).

LET’S ROUND THIS OFF!
Christianity is above and beyond politics. Christians have lived through many governmental situations over the centuries, good and bad. Often Christianity has prospered more when there is a repressive government, persecution seems to bring out the grandest and the best in God’s children, history bears witness to that fact.  Christians through the ages have grappled with the extent to which they should seek to sway government policies towards Godly decisions. Public opinion can also be turned away from evil by the pressure of the Christians. We should obey before God the government we are under, not of course condoning or entering into sin because of the ruling authority. God can and does use even ungodly rulers for His purposes. Jesus said:
“…Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.” (Matthew 22:21).
Consider Cyrus, King of Persian and conqueror of Babylon, as an example of God using a pagan ruler:
”  Hitherto the great kings of the earth had only oppressed the Jews. Cyrus was to them as a "shepherd" (Isa. 44:28; 45:1). God employed him in doing service to his ancient people. He may possibly have gained, through contact with the Jews, some knowledge of their religion.
   The "first year of Cyrus" (Ezra 1:1) is not the year of his elevation to power over the Medes, nor over the Persians, nor the year of the fall of Babylon, but the year succeeding the two years during which "Darius the Mede" was viceroy in Babylon after its fall. At this time only (B.C. 536) Cyrus became actual king over Palestine, which became a part of his Babylonian empire. The edict of Cyrus for the rebuilding of Jerusalem marked a great epoch in the history of the Jewish people (2 Chr. 36:22, 23; Ezra 1:1-4; 4:3; 5:13-17; 6:3-5).” (Easton’s Dictionary).

If we live in a country which allows freedom of speech, then Christians must speak up against such things as euthanasia, abortion, homosexuality and other issues. We are indeed citizens of Heaven, with a spiritual agenda from the Lord. But we live in this world for now, and we must be a force for morality, godliness and purity where we can. When moral issues are presented in a secular society then Christians have just as much right to have their say as anyone else. This situation is changing rapidly, however, and even the freedom of religion is being withdrawn in many ways in Australia today. We should use our voices to influence society whilst we have the opportunity, it may be taken from us in the future. This does not mean that we believers should seek to rule nations and the globe! This quote from Dr Henry Morris and Martin Clark would be useful here:
“ Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34), but righteousness will have no place unless those who have received God’s free gift of righteousness in Jesus Christ exercise an appropriate influence. This influence will primarily be in the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but beyond that, it can lead to taking a stand on public issues in a manner manifesting righteousness.”
(The Bible Has the Answer. P.272. Creation Life Publishers).

“It is easy to see that we are told to preach the gospel to every nation, to every creature, but passages like Revelation 7:9 and Acts 15:14 tell us the purpose and response of this command. In addition, our English word “church” is a translation of the Greek word ekklesia, which means “called out ones.” Just as God called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldeans, so Christ is calling out of the nations a people for his own name – the Body of Christ.
Some Old Testament passages do teach that the nations will one day serve Messiah, but this during the Millennium (Isaiah 2:2,3; Amos 9:12; Micah 4:2; Zephaniah 3:9,10). Since, as shown elsewhere, this present age is not the kingdom, these passages are speaking of a future time and not the present. The conversion of the nations [or Australia] will not take place before the coming of the Lord.”
(Dominion Theology: Blessing or Curse? H Wayne House/Thomas Ice. Pub. Multnomah.).

We can influence society in many and various ways, but the world is temporary! We must set our desires and ministries upon things above, not on things on the earth. The things of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus are eternal. The Bible gives us teaching on this that should lead us into the ways of the Heavenly Lord, so let us finish with God’s Word encouraging us in our walk on this fallen planet. Fear not the wickedness of fallen men and their temporary authority over us, beloved, God has everything in hand:
“We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” (11 Corinthians 4:8-18).
